1. I was watching Q music channel the other night and the video for Desire came on, only it wasn't the usual mix it was an extended version that started with Larry drums, lasted about 5 minutes and seemed to have Maria Mckee on backing vocals. Has anyone else heard this mix or was I just imagining this. Having been a U2 fan for 16 years I have never heard this mix so I was quite impressed
  2. That would be the Hollywood Remix, most likely. Plus the promo had an even longer version.

Released as the first single from Rattle and Hum, both the album and the movie, Desire arrived to radio in early September 1988. The promo singles for the most part contained songs that would be contained on the commercial single. One unique promo contained a longer version of the Hollywood Remix of the title track only.

The Rattle and Hum singles were those that wrapped up one era for the band, but perhaps also began the introduction to the next, as multiple remixes of the title track would make it as the b-sides to this and When Love Comes to Town.
