1. I think I'll go nuts with all this waiting! I don't understand why they don't say anything, why all this silence. They announced the dates for 2010 one year before. They will easily sell out, no matter when they make the dates public.
I sure hope they are not planning to publish the European dates in April, or, even worse, in May, prior to the new album. They should realize that people spend big amounts of money to go and see them and they need to plan their vacations. Am I exaggerating, folks? Am I the only one who needs to buy plane tickets now instead of two or three months from now?

That depends if they are actually going to happen.

Also, I think the latest they will get announced is at least May.

You just need serious patience instead of losing your temper over it.

And why do you need to buy plane tickets now instead of two or three months from now?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not losing my temper, just my patience
I find May to be quite late, it's only three months before August, the most probable starting moment for a European leg.
And I bet the plane tickets would be much more expensive in May than in March or than now.
Again, I don't understand the criteria on which they delay this so much. In my opinion, the sales would go just the same, no matter when they come out with the dates.

    You are losing both.

So? Think about when the South American dates have been announced, and when the Australian/NZ dates have been announced? It's only February, and it's late August/September when these possible dates are going to be taken place.
Yeah, they will be more expensive. But there is nothing you can do about that.
The delay might be that they have finalised the dates yet. OR it could be that all this is a load of bullshit, and there isn't going to be any dates.

But seriously dude, just be patient. Because it's only February. If anything doesn't get announced by about June, start getting uptight and worried.
  5. If you're getting too impatient, just think about how incredibly lucky we are to possibly see U2 in Europe for the THIRD summer in a row. Last time that happened was probably 1982/1983/1984....

    Nope you're not

The problem is that if there's no EU leg then I may go to the US (I can find pretty good excuses like we only live once and one must visit the US one day anyway so why not now?) but then I can't wait forever with that, can I. So the same thing may happen to me that happened to US folks who bought their tickets to a show and then weeks later another show was announced in their neighbourhood. But let's be frank, an average Eastern European wallet is not nearly as deep as an average US wallet so that would be pretty much annoying for me. But then again, we only live once...

You seem to know better what I am losing...
Anyway, my point was that there were no problems to announce last year's gigs about one year earlier. Over that, again, there were no problems to add new dates weeks after the first announcement. I believe it was the case for Rome? Maybe more. Perhaps the deals were not finalized, as you say.
But if they are really to play and finish in Dublin, as they said they wanted for quite some time now, I doubt that everything is not yet set. What I'm saying is that if they have the dates, they should make them public.
  9. I already booked my hotel in Dublin

  10. Well, it's easy to book around all week-ends in September and August and, most of all, it's free.
Maybe I booked a hotel not far from Aviva stadium, I don't remember.
Things change when it comes to booking the flight. But if I had to chose a week-end and risk, it would be September 16-18, though 23-25 is not so unlikely, if we think about the weather.
  11. Maybe there aren't any European anouncements because there just won't be a new European leg...
Anyway I remember that when the last European leg was anounced a year I advance, the majority of people here complained that It was waaay to soon. Now that it takes a while, what do I read ? Complaints. It's getting a rather funny place here
  12. Another thing: Belgium television, radio and newspapers said that U2 will headline Glastonbury. (Other would be Beyoncé and Coldplay)

I couldn't visit the site for a while because of a computercrash, but I'm quite surprised there's nothing mentioned here
