    I'd love to see U2 playing small concerts again. Of course I love this hole thing they're doing now, but I guess everybody needs to go back to the roots sometimes. Just U2 and music, without big stages that might get Bono tired or something like that.

    About their last tour, I don't believe. They still have too much energy to burn, but maybe they need to rest a little and put the things in order (albums, business, Spider Man, families, etc).



  2. The fact that they really are playing a great deal of their "greatest hits" does make me wonder if this is the end of a U2 tour as we have all grown to love over the past years/decades. Maybe they are playing all these classics (and rehearsing Red Hill Mining Town (!?)) to bid us farewell...

    ...or maybe I am just stirring it up - unintentionally, of course.

  4. There is a thread on that radio interview on U2.com which was mentioned earlier, and below that some comments regarding coming back home, and that "the big man" found it very unlikely.

    Seeing the picture of Edge earlier this week, he indeed seems very tired.
  5. Well I don't really know about the US but in Europe it was definitely a real hard business to get tickets to any 360°show. So we can't say that there is no demand for stadium shows.

    Just imagine, if they did small theatre shows with 2-3000 seats capacity...

    As regards to adding 'special' songs to the setlist, why would it mean it's a farewell tour???? They just try to fresh it up a bit, nothing else in my opinion.

    As to playing hits, well, that's what the casual concert goers need don't they?? For them U2 is With Or Without You, Beatiful Day and Sunday Bloody Sunday. That's all.

    Edge is 50 so surely he can't look like a 20 year old?

    You folks who are brooding right now thinking this is the end etc. are just like those people who see half glass of water as a glass that is half empty and not half full if you know what I mean.
  6. I do NOT want U2 to stop touring. AT ALL. It's just that I've seen certain things that lead me to think (against my own wishes, once again) that we might be near the end.


  7. huh? Do we mean the same Europe (the one with Italy, France, Germany and stuff?). It never was easier to score tix than for 360, imho.

    Nevertheless, I don't see any sign why this should be their last big tour or even farewell. They're gonna watch the music scene for a while and come up with a copied but optimized concept of what other acts do.
  8. I agree also that tix were easy to get. The end of 360 is no bad thing but one more shindig in Dublin to end it all would be nice.

  10. I don't think this is it for U2 - for a few reasons....

    1) With this tour they have proved that they can do shows to huge numbers of people with less dates. Keeping legs to 20 gigs means they can spend more time on other projects and with family. Gives them more energy and time.

    2) They have a contract with Live Nation to perform for like another 9 years or something I think. It takes them up to their 60th B'day and I think it might include another 2 albums and a best of.

    Albums aren't part of the LN deal.
