1. giving a glance at Willie's diary here another brick in the wall ...

Had our fearless leader not had his encounter with surprise back surgery, this (SaoPaolo-3) would have been the final show of the 360 tour. As it is, we now go until the end of July where U2360 will take the final curtain call at Moncton in north-eastern Canada.
  2. Sad sad sad.
  3. all of a sudden, i think they are gonna play last night on earth at their last show..

the whole thing is a spaceship that's landed on earth sorta thing...
and moncton is the last night of the tour, the last night that the spaceship will be on earth

    what do you guys think?
  4. willie once more :

We’ve three weeks now until the final furlong of the 360 tour. This last leg (Mexico / North America) is a long one but even so it's strange to really take on board that the end is in sight for our five-year mission. This may necessitate an amount of adjustment.
  5. Of course it's à bit sad, but I think it's time. They've been on the road for two years when it's over. It's time for them to have some rest, enjoy their times with their families and dream it all up again.

I like the way you're thinking!
I can see it quite vividly before my minds eye:

a final encore after MOS: Last Night On Earth..

after finishing LNOE, the guys go up the stairs into the Giant Lemon, wave goodbye one last time before the lemon closes and disappears to the top of the Claw.

    Off topic:
After that we get 3 years of silence to let the dust settle, let us get on with our lives (which means roaming this forum desperately for three years) and finally in 2014, U2 has "dreamt it all up again":
They present us their new (only a little overproduced) album (which contains 7 long songs, because of lack of inspiration):

    "Songs Of Hindsight"

    tracklist:
    1. Glastonbury Almost Worked Out
    2. North Star Still Shining
    3. First Night on A Different Planet
    4. Wavebreaker (just a little reworked)
    5. Zoouniverse
    6. Thinking of Obama...
    7. Over and Done With.

  7. What do you think about the rumour that came up at u2place.com?

New album and arena (+ some stadiums) tour next year...

    I'm not holding my breath.

I'm not gonna say it'll never happen but it's really unlikely. They've been touring for the better part of 3 years and I just can't see them fronting up for that again so soon. Maybe we'll get a new album (and not just the AB re-release) in time for Xmas 2012, but I just don't see them touring it before 2013.

Maybe a new song or two for benefit or charity, similar to that Christmas song for RED. As for tours, a possible apperance somewhere to promote, if it does happen, new songs from the AB remaster like what was done with Wave Of Sorrow.

A new album - totally unlikely. I haven't seen these rumours but I do eventually have to update my SoA timeline thread.
  10. the more optimistic and likely things are new album at the end of 2012 and tour during 2013
  11. SoA sounded already too good at the beginning As long as they release something this year I'l be happy
