1. Not much tour talk going on rather than the rumour thread so what do we make of this?

Lanois has let slip in an interview that he has seen preliminary frawings for the upcoming stage setup. The link below should let you hear him talk but the overall gist seems to be that the band is going to be able to sell out every seat in each stadium and still offer unobstructed views of the band. Only thing I can imagine is blown up Elevation or indoor Vertigo setup but then where do your screens and lighting effects etc go?

Have a listen and post your thoughts. (if the link doesn't work then visit @U2 and find the headline on their homepage)

I saw this a couple days ago.....was a never big fan of "in the round"....hopefully they make it something special and different
  3. Oh dear, I'm not sure about this, The concept seems to make sense but i can't see to many people thinking, "Yes, got a seat looking at U2s backside", even if the band do face them for a few songs

well inevitably someones going to be sitting behind the stage in any setting...except for stadiums? That aesthetic of playing in the round just never struck me as that interesting, like some kind of easy ploy idk.....it worked for Dane Cook though but stand up comedy (ah!) is different
  5. Elevation and Vertigo Indoor came to my mind, too.

They could use a really elevated stage, so that the screens are "below" the stage, or maybe go Foo's style, although they had 4 pillars I think. Or do the Timberlake design backwards...

Foo's was central was it not? And it did have Pillars. How would an Elevated stage work with GA though? I'd love to see those drawings

Are they trying this to show it off as 'engineering genius' or trying to sell more tickets?

Well, the GA would have to have long necks.

Maybe they started from one of the alternate Vertigo/Elevation concepts?...

Thats my guess. How huge would the elipse be in a stadium? I'm baffled
  9. They surely come up with something good. What about a screen coming down from the roof?

  10. Or they project images on something.... I'm baffled and curious too.

  11. Might be hard in stadiums.
