  2. I remember listening to this bootleg and asking myself "WTF is that loud, boomy noises at the end of One?". I never got an answer.

    I think the IEM monitors were malfunctioning and Bono couldn't hear himself; he pointed at his ear and did gestures that apparently none of the sound crew got, so by the end of the song he must have been really angry that his plea wasn't heard. You can see a roadie handing him a different microphone after the song ends.
