  1. Hello. I was just wondering about this and thought you guys would like an opinion.
    If you were to put together your very own CD of rare U2 tracks (B-sides, Outtakes etc.) what would you include on it. Please offer your opinion.

  2. The POP sessions, the ATYCLB sessions.... some soundboard rarities like Zooropa, Babyface...
  3. I would put the POP sessions on too. Ithink Levitate is a great POP leftover (or was it an ATYCLB one )


  4. "Levitate" was listed on the "Unreleased & Rare" as being an 'ATYCLB' outtake. Although it is possible that the writing of it began earlier.

    There are a number of instances where something that was not completed at the time of an album, will be revisted an album or two later.

    That said, some of the 'Pop'' songs first began forming during the 'Zooropa' sessions. "If God Will Send His Angels" & "Wake Up Dead Man" began during the 'Zooropa' sessions; although in very diffrent forms.

    "Hold Me, Thrill Me..." was another song that began during the 'Zooropa; sessions.

    "Numb" began it's 'life' as "Down All The Days" during the 'Achtung Baby' sessions.

    And famously, early copies (and not the remastered) 'Boy' album had a snippet of a song called "Saturday Night" which later was re-written as "Fire" on the 'October' album.
  5. So an outtakes album, for me... I'd like to hear the early versions of the tunes mentioned in my previous post.

    It'd be interesting to hear the earlier versions of "Hold Me, Thrill Me...", "If God Will Send...", "Wake Up Dead Man", "City of Blinding Lights", "Love And Peace" (which started during 'ATYCLB')... those and any others that they have in the tape vaults.
