  1. Does anyone have any U2 Apple Lossless bootlegs they could post? I am new to this format and would like to hear what it sounds like.

  2. It does not sound anything better than the lossless FLACS. There is no audible difference and in theory there can't be any difference in quality.

    Only the filesize can be different. But the difference is very small. Big pro of Apple Lossless its that its compatible with iTunes/iPod.
  3. Well I just moved up from lossy to lossless (lol, it's eating my hard disk and my external hard disk), but the difference in quality is enormous. Just try it out: submit a CD in lossy and then in lossless, and hear it yourself.

    Thats true, but between lossless codecs there is no sound quality difference. Because every bit can be recovered, if not its not lossless.

    But you are right Apple Lossless has better quality then MP3 and other lossy codecs.
  5. I have Brussels 87, Dublin 93 and Milan 92 in apple lossless that I may get around to uploading

  9. there isn't a huge increase in quality over the mp3 but knowing you have the highest quality available gives it that little bit extra

  11. Thanks to everyone, downloaded Foobar and downloaded Lossless Gig on this site Portugal 2005/08/14, yes was surprised about the increase in quality from MP3 that I am used to listening to.

    I think I will start downloading more lossless gigs, thanks for all of your help.

    Great ! Lossless really is better than an average mp3 encoding. But dont forget that over 90% of the people cant tell a high quality MP3 encoding apart from the lossless. But as germcevoy said, with losslesss you listen to the best quality available .
