Every fan of the month has an interview with us, you can read our interview with zooey in this topic:
- Tell us something about yourself, who are you and what do you do for a living?
I'm a high school teacher, mid 30's (a real lady never tells her exact age, right? *wink* ). I'm married and have a 5 year old son. I'm living in the American Southwest but wish I was still a California Girl.
- How did you become a fan of U2, tell us how it happened?
I'd heard SBS and Seconds, maybe something else when my brothers listened to the radio but I became a fan when, in 8th grade my friend Dave Young gave me a tape of UF. I put it in my dad's tape player and nearly wore out the rewind button trying to get every lyric to every song. Been a fan ever since. But I didn't get really obsessed until ATYCLB came out.
- In your opinion, what has been U2's defining moment and why?
Defining moment? That's hard. I'd have to say PopMart in Sarajevo. It a symbol of the blend between the sincerity/political side and just the all out rock n roll. That show defines the dichotomy that makes the band great and unique.
- If you could ask each member of the band one question each, what would it be?
Edge - How do you think the universe began and how do you think it will end?
Adam - How do you let go of tension? (What do you do to stay calm / relax? )
Larry - aaa... er.... um....*giggle*... *drool*... erm... Wanna go for a run?
Bono - Wanna have a drink?
- What does your U2 collection look like? What kind of stuff do you have? Anything that you're particularly proud of?
My U2 collection? Every Rolling Stone mag with U2 or Bono on the cover, 2 vertigo posters, every released CD and DVD, a few bootlegs, my license plate on my car. War, JT, UABRS, R&H on vinyl, U2 by U2 and U2 & i. And of course my tattoo. Oh, an my pictures of my trip to THE Joshua Tree and concert pics I took. Most proud of the tat and the trip.
- What do you think of Get on Your Boots?
GOYB? I wasn't thrilled with it. Then I liked it. Then I loved it. Then I didn't really like it. Now I'm really liking it (especially with the leaked video).
- As someone who's been a fan of the band for quite a long time now, how do you feel the hype for No Line on the Horizon compares to some of their earlier albums?
The hype seems to be a little sloppy. Like the U2 machine isn't firing on all 4 cylinders. But heck, what do I know? Just give me the album and an arena tour and I'll be happy!
