1. Below are the potential songs that I would think should release as singles.

    Boy
    - The Electric Co.

    October
    - Threw A Brick Through A Window

    The Unforgettable Fire
    - Bad

    The Joshua Tree
    - Bullet The Blue Sky

    Achtung Baby
    - Until The End Of The World
    - Love Is Blindness

    Zooropa
    - The First Time

    Pop
    - Gone

All That You Can't Leave Behind
    - Kite

How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb
    - Yahweh
    - Fast Cars

    What would you choose?
  2. Fast Cars wasn't even on the album itself, only as a bonus track on some releases. So that doesn't count here.

Further, I think Kite, Gone, Until The End Of The World would have been great singles.
  3. Ultraviolet - Although i'm glad it didn't

    Couldnt care about the rest
  4. Every track that was on an album but didn't get released as a single.
  5. I always thought Kite would have made a good single.

I agree with Gerard about UltraViolet although I also agree that I'm glad it didn't get released. Same with Acrobat and So Cruel (too long mind).

Miracle Drug might have done well commercially too. As would Running To Stand Still with a certain audience.

  6. Seriously, they released Window, Mofo and Fire as singles - so from the top off my head I can't imagine any album track that disqualifies as a Single release...
  7. I think New York would have been a good single, In A Little While....i think any song off ATYCLB could have been a single...same goes for Bomb with the exception of Crumbs and One Step Closer but your list is pretty good

Acrobat and Wake Up Dead Man would have to be edited for radio....

    Fair point though.

    - Not sure there was anything that would have been a great single.

    The Unforgettable Fire
    - Bad - But then again, they sort of did as the live version from WAIA has gotten a lot of radio play.

    The Joshua Tree
    - One Tree Hill

    Achtung Baby
    - Until The End Of The World
    - UltraViolet

    Zooropa
    - Some Days Are Better Than Others.

    Pop
    - Gone

All That You Can't Leave Behind
    - Kite (But something remixed a bit - perhaps similar to how it turned out live in 2006)

How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb
    - Mercy
    - Mercy
    - Mercy

    - Hey, 11 O'Clock Tick Tock was a single and not on an album. =O)

In the end, it is all speculation and it is easy to be a Monday Morning Quarterback. For the most part, U2 have been pretty darn good at being U2. And while I might not agree with each decision, they do get it right more often than not.
