I thought it was because Bono couldn't do the falsetto like he did in the studio live.
Little strange he couldn't do it cause Bono could still hit hgh notes then. Look at him on One, Numb and Lemon and those were only a few years later. And he can still do Bad.

For mine, the singles perhaps they could have released:

Boy - The Electric Co

TUF - Wire, Bad

JT - Red Hill, One Tree Hill [both should have had full international releases]

AB - Until The End Of The World

Zooropa - Zooropa

Pop - Mofo [yes i know it was released as a remix single, but should have had an album edit version with video clip]

ATUCLB - Kite

HTDAAB - Original Of The Species [should have got the full release]

The singles perhaps that should have stayed as album tracks :

Fire, Numb, Lemon, If God Will Send His Angels, Discotheque, Please.
