1. Hate to get everyone up in arms before the tickets go on sale but let's hope that it doesn't happen like it did with Springsteen ticket sales... keep9ing in mind that Bruce also uses Live Nation and also that it is rumoured that Ticketmaster is wanting to buy Live Nation... read on...

Springsteen fans cry foul after Ticketmaster snub
    2 hrs 15 mins ago
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – A New Jersey congressman is demanding an investigation after Bruce Springsteen fans were unable to buy tickets from Ticketmaster's Web site — which then promptly offered them more expensive tickets from a subsidiary.

U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell of Paterson wants the Federal Trade Commission and Justice Department to investigate possible conflicts of interest involving Ticketmaster and a ticket reseller it owns, TicketsNow.

When tickets for Springsteen's Meadowlands show went on sale Monday, some fans got an error message on their computer screen that shut them out from buying tickets. A TicketsNow ad offered tickets for hundreds of dollars more than face value.

A Ticketmaster spokesman says only a few fans reported problems.
  2. Live Nation.. I never heard something positive, and the three times I used it (Coldplay twice, Oasis) there always were problems.
  3. It was the same with AC/DC last month and with Phish recently.
    Gotta love the livenation deal.

  4. Yep, everything points to a horrifying ticket sale for us U2 fans. I'm saving money every month now to be able to buy tickets from scalpers when I can't get tickets (which is likely without a good portion of luck).
  5. I have contacted Principle Management regarding this. To make them aware of the issues and to ask that they re-instate ticketing for u2.com members... or at least to those with accounts that have been open a bit (12+ mos) to get by the scalpers.

Hopefully, they will do what they can for the fans and help avoid the thieves.

I'm pretty relaxed. LiveNation has a deal with eventim in Germany and ticket sales with that service went pretty well in the past. Also, there are always tickets popping up shortly before the concerts.

I was redirected to eventim.de as well when I bought tickets for Coldplay last time with Live Nation. Seems like we Dutchies will have to use eventim as well, hope tickets will pop up this year too in advance

I also bought my Coldplay-tickets trough Livenation.nl, and I was forwarded to eventim.de too, I think. But it didn't give me any problems though. That pre-sale started at 5PM, I tried it for 10 times around 5.30PM without luck, waited one hour and got them with the first try at 6.30PM.

Hope the fact it's U2 will give me some luck..here's hoping
  9. When I tried to buy Coldplay tix, I was forwared to TicketsNow, a subsidiary to TIcketmaster. I am guessing the site others were forwarded to was owned by TM too.

So see... there IS an industry MORE corrupt than big oil!

Same for me, except the demand for U2 will be 50 times as high here.. You'll need more luck than that

Well, when the tour dates are announced, I've got the problem of getting around 15 tickets.

I think I spread my chances. I'll ask some friends and family to join me online in the hunt for tickets. Someone will have succes I think.
