Assuming you're going to one or more shows, do you plan to record your own bootleg (audio or video) for sharing on the web or for your own personal collection?
Personally, I'm thinking of bringing a video camera and shooting some footage. I'd love to contribute my shots/angles to a multi-cam source....but am not sure which shows I'll be going to or how to coordinate that with anyone else.
What about you?
I cant name my source but i can assure you U2 will be recording and releasing audio downloads of the tour, similar to what bands like DMB and Pearl Jam have been doing for years, official bootlegs, from U2.com
and the tour is actually starting in May, not June like Bono thought
i'm not bullshitting, promise...just passing along what i've been told from someone "in the know"

I'll hold you to this come May (if it is indeed true). The first part I'm pretty sure about (Brooklyn), but the second part remains to be seen. So will it be only for promo shows or shows right throughout the tour? That's something I'd like you to tell us.
Why can you not name your source? Sounds like what The Sun do with their ''sources''.
Can you also ask your source:
- what will the next single be
- when will U2 play in Australia
- who the support acts might be
- what the stage might look like (a hint)
- what the opening song could be
- whether they'll bring out any old gems to the shows
- where they'll tour first and last
Thanks!

i'm actually hoping Bono is right, as i can't attend any shows in May, but that's what i was told
from what i understand, and like i said, it's going to be a similar deal to DMB and/or Pearl Jam, where every show (for the most part) is released within days/weeks of the show itself, likely only as downloads, no physical product, but i'm just guessing on that part
i can't ask any questions, and even if i did they woudn't know the answers to any of those i don't think. it's a website related thing, which is why they know when the tour starts, and that shows will be recorded/released

I think we can assume early/mid July...
And no recordings by me:
-Got no recorder/video camera
-Don't wanna ruin my first, and maybe only, U2-gig

And how many songs would a PJ bootleg have, and are they lossless (FLAC, WAV etc)?
