1. I kinda like the mastering sometimes on loud songs. like oasis . I don't find any problem with this albums' mastering though, it sounds like a cross between ab/uf

See, for me, I didn't want their new album to sound like Actung or Joshua or any other U2 album. I wanted NLOTH to sound like...well, NLOTH. If every album sounded the same what would be the point of U2 being a band? They have to expand. If music never would have expanded we wouldn't have had bands like the Beatles. To me it's just pointless for a band to have every album sound the same. I would get bored. Every U2 album, to me, is a wonderful journey.

Yep that what makes music so great. "Cos the sweetest melody is the one we haven’t heard"
  3. I respect the Give-it-some-time advices, but they sound to me like 'C'mon, it's U2 listen till you like it'. I think a good album does not need you to give a hand to be good. Quality is obvious, stands for itself. At least that's how it used to be with U2 records.

Someone should tell Bono to sing and not to scream in the first half of the record. And someone should tell Larry to play another drum beat, he's been playin the same in the last 4 albums. Boring.

I thiink U2 don't make records anymore. They make money.

Did you like any of the songs?

Yes, exactly. I don't love all their songs. I don't expect to love everything they do and I don't demand that they should only do things I love. But I must say that I love them right now for releasing a brilliant album!
  6. I'm not a hard core U2 fan, although I have all their albums. Like I said, I feel the mix is so poor it almost spoils it, it is clipped all over the place. Ceders... is the only track that I don't care too much for, but I think this is on the whole a better album than the last two (or indeed, since AB).

Albums since AB have tended to have a few pop hits padded with mediocre stuff, this on the other has has fewer commercial pop hits, but also little in the way of mediocre stuff either. It is strong all the way through

A measure of a good album is how often you tend to skip to the tracks you like. On this album I can't say I skip any.

It won't happen, but I would like to hear a re-mix or master. Lets not have this hard limiting stuff, it kills music with depth.
  7. I was originally completely underwhelmed by the album, but it grows on me more and more each week. I don't even notice the overuse of "ooooh ooooh ooooooooooh" anymore.
  8. I think the album is better than ATYCLB, but I dont think its better than Bomb, Im just not sure yet.

Fez and Unknown Caller I dont like, but I like the rest of the album is just fine. Stand Up Comedy is fantastic in my opinion.

  9. None. And I think it's very significative that the remix for NLOTH is cooler than the U2 version.

  10. Well, enjoy Original Soundtracks Vol. 1 then.

Unknown Caller is a gem in my opinion...
The beggining is very quiet and then it turns into an abrassive song with one of the bests solos I've heard from an Edge's guitar...
