My mom is trying to make believe again, not to be mean, but just because she thinks it's good to believe in God, Jesus, Muhammad, Buddah, whatever it is, which I don't really think is true. It just makes me a bit upset, because I have nothing but respect for religious people, and they never seem to have respect for non-believers like myself, they treat me like I have the plague or something, it's just not fair.

Are your parents the evangelical Christian type.

So when and why did you stop believing?

I was brought up Methodist, and I never really understood it, it never seemed to make sense to me. But I didn't start questioning it until I was being confirmed to the church, and I just felt like I was being forced into something, and I let that happen, I got confirmed to the church that I think preaches lies (I mean no offense by any of this, BTW) so then I just started thinking about it. A lot. And I listened to what others had to say, and I thought about it some more, and about last September I just came to my own conclusion that religion is pretty much a way of controlling people, and if you're raised with it, you believe it. If I lived in Pakistan then I would have been raised to believe Muhammad, and it would have had nothing to do with what I believe, just what others want me to believe, or have been taught to believe. I told my mom that I didn't believe and ever since it's like she's been trying to force it on me, which is probably the WORST thing to do.
