  1. ok. i like it, though it might be a bit boring, but still a good song. it's sooooo slow. So, I reserved complete judgement for when I heard it completely, and I think I gotta give it to the original version. More emotion in that one
  2. Dear God, the original version is so much better. Not liking the new one at all really.
  3. Why did they have to mess with such a great thing? They took out some of the best lyrics and turned it into a sappy, boring arse song. Bono pls put first version on SOA!!
  4. Hmm i've listened to both whole versions now but i definately (!) prefer the linear-version

  6. Horrible? Nah. Different? Yes. It is more "soundtrack-y" which is great as the acoustic piano version that's in the movie is lo and behold, part of the movie soundtrack.

    Linear version is better. But the soundtrack version is cool in a different way.

    As "Winter" was in 'Linear' (a NLOTH related project), there is a chance that it won't be on 'Songs of Ascent'.

    But yet, if that is the case, we still have two versions of the song. So that is sort of cool.

    I totally prefer the new version with the new lyrics (maybe minus "butter on toast"), the old version should be put nowhere except the vault because it sounds totally unfinished and raw. I can't believe what people like about the Linear version, I never liked it, the new version is much better. It's still not a great song, but it has definitely improved.

  10. Audacity, use the MP3 Lame Decoder and play the song from internet (Dieder's link for example).

  12. Perhaps it works in the film better with the new version? I prefer the first one I have to say but I also think that the 2nd has it's ups.
