1. I prefer the Brothers version.
  2. I think most of us agreed on that some time ago The production is much less Coldplayish than on the regular version - which is obviously good for a U2 song.
  3. Nevermind, I just listened back to both versions of the song after years... It's hard to decide. I cringe with the Linear's production (specially with the strings at the beggining and the extended Gregorian chants at the end) and I can't stand how Bono sings the last verses, but on the other hand the Brothers version lacks some power and has some poor vocals too.

    Unfinished. They're both unfinished.

Probably why it wasn't included in the final tracklist.
  5. intro strings and outro chants kinda ruin it yeah.
  6. Yes. It could be a very good song without these, among the best off the NLOTH era probably.
  7. ugh... I'll have to completely disagree.

I love Linear as it is strings and gregorian chants included. IMHO it's still better than at least half NLOTH. (And I like NLOTH)

(sidenote: If NLOTH were like 3 or 4 different albums meshed up into one, Winter and Soon belong to the same one)
  8. I only agree with the sidenote
