Great. I won't get in that first 1000 but as long as I get in the first 20 000 then I'm happy. The golden circle...sounds funky.
  2. Hans, it's 2.500, not 1.000.

Arriving before noon almost guarantees you being inside the circle; anyway, the best spot to see the 360 show is this

2 500 is a bit of a more achievable goal. 1000 not so much. I'll try and get in that spot, or at least close enough to it.

oh right, it seems quite a small number in there, i guess in comparision to the rest of the field its not so small

  5. Well, the golden circle is almost 1/3 of the whole GA area, so ~10.000 / 3 = ~3.000 people Quoting Richard Feynman, a famous Chemist, "There's plenty of room at the bottom"
  6. True, there can easily go around 2500 people in the front of stage, no problems You have to come in really late to not make it there. But, as today, it can also be too crowded

I'll probably go a bit later in the afternoon once I walk down (around 1pm or so), but I'm staying about 0.6km away from the stadium - as long as I don't get shoved right at the back (I'll just push up during Jay-Z and try not to die in complete and utter boredom) and close enough to the speaker stacks for a decent recording of songs if I choose to, I'll be more than happy, as long as I'm there I'll be even happier.

For GA on 360, is there a designated spot for tickets - or in GA can you go anywhere as long as you're somewhere on the field? How hard is it with that stage to get photos or is it so fucking big you could take photos from Sydney and still get a good shot? I think when I see that stage driving past I'll be screaming ''OH MY FUCKING GOD, 360...IT'S BLOODY MASSIVE!!!!''

When we lined up for 33 hours for the first Melbourne Vertigo concert, it wasn't 33 hours all up individually, had a group of 6 of us, and a room booked in the Docklands precinct, so we did shift work, sitting in blocks of 8 hour blocks each.

That said, we'll most likely just rock up around lunchtime on the day this time around, and either try & get in the circle or just outside of the bigger circle.

For the tapers out there, if i take in my iriver which voice records [very good quality], will i get a decent sound from just outside the ring and where do people sit the recording device so it doesnt get bumped around with excess noise etc?

This, 100%. I think I saw 4 shows in the US from that spot and it was thoroughly awesome. Inside the circle is a different kind of awesome, but for sound and view, outside rail is a go.

Haven't yet decided where I want to go for Brisbane and Melbourne, might depend on who I'm with.

Many thanks, looks like i have just found my position, and only have to line up for 5 or 6 hours as well....

The iRiver should do decent sound nearer to the speaker stacks. It won't get you uber-professional quality but it'll still be a good recording - I'll probably try and take my new iPod and see if I can get good recording from that. I'm probably hitting Ethihad around 12ish or so, depending on when I feel like walking down there.

What are we talking, 3 star, 4 star quality-ish recording?

  12. My long-term search has finished: thanks to a friend of mine (whose parents aren't finally attending the show), I have TWO GA tickets for the San Sebastián concert, on 26th of September
