Bono fears U2 will split up. The singer says he and his bandmates - guitarist The Edge, drummer Larry Mullen Jr. and bassist Adam Clayton - are determined to enjoy their upcoming world tour because they fear it could be their last.

He said: "We want to play for each other as much as we want to play for the crowd this time. You just don't know how long you are going to be doing this. When we walk out on stage, the hairs on people's necks go up - but what people don't know is that the hairs on our necks go up too."

Larry is concerned their fans won't want to part with their money to watch them, even though tickets have been priced reasonably.

He said: "Will we sell it out? Who knows? Will the economic situation have an impact? Probably. But that's not going to stop us."

Larry recently admitted he wants the group to retire while they are still at the top.

He said: "There will be a time when it's like, 'It's time to go.' I would like that to be on a high when you're still achieving as opposed to the curve down. That'll be sad for me. I think it'll be a more dignified time to go."

    if this is a joke,then its a shitty one...what do u think?

take completely out of context; in RS they were asked about the future, in no way was it implied that they were looking at calling it quits anytime soon. News outlets and journalists who don't know better and just want to publish a story find it too easy to "report" that "U2 is thinking of calling it quits" or something stupid like that. Misshaped words is all.
  2. I can't see Live Nation being happy with the one tour. I doubt this will be their last tour, i'm sure but hopeful they don't do an actual 'greatest hits tour'. That would seriously deflate me.

Get this monster of a tour out of the way and I reckon they will do something a little smaller afterwards. I'd hate to see them continue for the sake of knowing that whatever they release will sell millions. This current album has given me a teeny bit of belief that they can push the boat out a little but I reckon it's gonna take another Achtung, Zooropa or POP to keep them alive.
  3. To sum it all up:

We will not know until a new album comes.

You never know what can happen over the next 4 years, maybe they will stop making music, or one of them gets sick or whatever. But if they can make another album, there will be another tour too.
  4. i think they'll going to make tours til they're 80 or somethin

  5. when the band is officially ended and they don't make any new music, some reunions for one gig would be nice, e.g. Pink Floyd on Live 8, but no way they should tour
  6. i cant imagine that moment when i hear that U2 will split up....
and they are almost 50 now
