  1. Today I got my renewal present from U2.com.
    On Cd 1 is the song Jesus Christ (from the Sun Studio sessions for Rattle and Hum).
    I always thought that it was a Woody Guthrie song, because it was the album A Vision Shared a Tribute To Woody Guthrie.
    Can anyone tell me of this song is a U2 original song or a cover.

  3. well, i really dont know who is the real compositor, but im sure is a cover, and about Mercy, i tinhk they don't put it on, cause its gonna be on the new album, at least i hope

    It seems it's an original U2 song as there's no mention of it being written by someone else in the credits.
  7. It is definitely a Woody Guthrie song and one of his best in my humble opinion.
  8. I just checked my Folkways CD and for "Jesus Christ" it says "Words & Music by Woody Guthrie".

    i dont know if it's a cover or not but i just herd a verison of this song by t.d lind on itunes and one by will geer and woody guthrie
  11. Just an odd note in this topic... But I got my CDs in the mail today. In fact, they sent me two separate copies! (And I only paid for one subscription.)

    Maybe one of the moderators here on U2start would like one of them? Let me know...

    Honestly, you guys do so much for the U2 community, and I totally appreciate how this site renewed my interest in U2 a couple of years ago.
