1. Sounds a shame. They didn't show the march did they?
  2. Sad to hear that, Gerry...
  3. i saw them in Melbourne back in 2008 i think it was and i wasn't a fan at all... sound was a bit shit and the performance seemed very routine there was no real interaction with the audience at all... as for being the best at interacting with an audience i think that goes to Coldplay chris martin does a great job at that...
  4. thats not good to hear.....going to see them tomorrow at the ricoh arena in coventry and the british weather is planning to rain too. lets hop it turns out better.
  5. Frontier City is amazing

im seeing these guys this November, hoping for lots of old songs cuz Come Around Sundown was averages apart from a few songs.
  6. saw kol at ricoh in coventry yesterday, good gig, decent sound imo but the crowd were the problem. a typical drunk english affair with lots of bottle throwing in the stadium. seems they were there for the beer rather than the music, shame. we got some atmosphere about half way through the set.

    Sorry to hear that Gerry.

Sums up why I am not going to go see them outdoors. They are not an outdoor/stadium act in my opinion. Last album was honking too
  8. Just got the audio of this video. Really nice setlist, with lots of olds

  9. Totally irrelevant, but the way Caleb parts his hair now is intriguing compared to how he's looked since about 2007. Noticed this right off the bat at my last KOL show.
  10. Just saw Kings of Leon at Murrayfield Stadium. It was amazing; the performance was almost flawless and the crowd were outstanding. But there was some things that annoyed me, of which I will tell you tomorrow when I give a full report of the show.
  11. I said I was going to write a proper review:

Last night, I was in the stands for Kings of Leon's concert at Murrayfield Stadium. This was the first concert I had ever attended at Murrayfield and it didn't let down. Got to the stadium at about 6:45pm & the second support act were on - Zac Brown Band. They were mediocre, nothing special. They done a cover of Killing in the Name by Rage Against the Machine. Friends who were standing told me it was like a hoedown at the start of their set. After they went off, the crew started clearing away, and bringing on the instruments and everything for White Lies to come on. They were brilliant, definitely worth seeing. Then it was the long wait for Kings of Leon to come on. It was at 8:45pm that they came on stage and blasted straight into Radioactive after a haze of red smoke ejected from the stage. The crowd were just stunning, so loud. They then ripped into several other great songs; Taper Jean Girl, Four Kicks, The Bucket etc. The setlist:

    Radioactive
    Taper Jean Girl
    Four Kicks
    The Bucket
    The Immortals
    Revelry
    Fans
    Back Down South
    Crawl
    No Money
    Charmer
    Mary
    Birthday
    Milk
    Notion
    Closer
    Manhattan
    California Waiting
    Pyro
    Molly's Chambers
    On Call
    Sex On Fire

    Be Somebody
    Knocked Up
    Use Somebody
    Devil Song/Lucyfur
    Black Thumbnail

They played 27 songs, which was a couple more than they played on previous night. Plus, it was Nathan's birthday, so hense why 'Birthday' was played.

But, there were a couple of disappointments - none with the setlist or performance thankfully. My seats were okay, but the people sitting next to me and my mother were just horrible. Sitting next my mum were a couple who looked like brother and sister, to be honest - both pretty ugly. They just kept aruging and leaving their seat all the time to get drinks or go to the toilet. The couple who were at the end of the row were getting really annoyed with moving all the time to let them past. Also, it looked like they were arguing. It got worse for me... actually, much worse. Five minutes before Kings of Leon came on, this overly obese couple (finally) come up the stairs, puffing and sighing, and unfortunately... sit next to me. I couldn't sit properly because they man was so big. His wife was absoutely massive as well. So for some of the set, I was sitting uncomfortably, so then I eventually thought "fuck this" and stood up. The moany & irritating couple decided to the move to the back were there was some empty seats (don't know why), so my mum moved along one seat, and I sat back down again.

After all that, there was no problems. I stood up during Pyro again, and sang along with the crowd, who sang in a great harmony. The best moment had to be Sex on Fire as the crowd outsang Caleb completely. At the end, after Black Thumbnail, there was an epic fireworks ending which was absoutely stunning. That was definitely the best concert closer I have ever seen in my life.

Kings of Leon - thank you for a truly great concert. You are placed 2nd in my top bands seen in concert now.
