1. I'd love the return of a Billie Jean snippet as a tribute this tour.
  2. A great loss for the pop and media world. He was one of the last true superstars, even if his best days have been more than a decade ago.

But no big loss for me. I didn't like his voice, I didn't like his music, and I didn't like the image he constructed around himself. For fifteen years now all I felt towards him was pity for his lost childhood and his obvious insanity.

  3. My thoughts are in a post in the most recent page of General Chat... I'm sure that if you look, you can find it.

Obviously you don't appreciate music talent. The guy set records that U2 would love to possess (die to have doesn't sound appropriate today). I'm a loyal U2 fan like everyone else in here but to deny Michael Jackson his due credit would be like denying U2 their due credit.

Thank you Casper, those are pretty much my thoughts. Not to mention the fact that he scares me...

Everybody (the world) is over reacting. It's not like anybody actually knew him. Plus, he was such a creeper. I can't even believe the news coverage in the U.S., it's on all of the morning news shows. I feel like I'm the only person who doesn't like him. I was originally going to keep these thoughts out of this topic, but whatever.

this is what I can't stand. U2 fans being one dimensional. Where U2's music is the only music that matters. Regardless of his character issues we lost a tremendous music talent and for those that can't acknowledge that need to go back to school

Who are you to label people as "one dimensional"? We have a right to either like or not like whatever music we want, shouldn't that be acknowledged? As U2 fans, we know that better than anybody. We never denied his talent. But can you honestly look at a picture such as this one and not be unsettled?

I know, an argument in a memorial topic, it's bad. Disrespectful, unsettling and shouldn't be happening. My apologies to everybody who just said "RIP" or something.

You know music is subjective, right?
    Anyway, R.I.P.

I'm playing the whole HIStory album on Repeat Mode, my neighbors must be about to kill me... No matter, it's MJ and HIStory. Rest in Peace.

I'd kill you because if I had to hear Childhood one more fucking time...Little Susie is creepy on that album, though - just not a big fan of DS, Childhood - never have been since 1995. Trying best to avoid Invincible...what a shame it was his last album and his only album of the last decade. Blood On The Dance Floor is way, way better.

Here's hoping that a posthumous album with unfinished songs is released. Everyone over in Indiana - well, Gary, more specifically, are putting flowers and tributes near his old home. Beautiful to see they can come together.

The first line of the last song recorded, Hold My Hand, speaks volumes about this.

Off-topic, your avatar is awesome Nick!

Casper didn't say Michael Jackson hadn't been talented. He didn't say his music was bad. He just said he didn't like it, that's all.
