Was RZ open when stadium first opened, ie not cordoned off or did you go in through a gate/entrance. Pics seem to show just one entrance into RZ

I could have stayed in the RZ if I had fancied. There was another entrance setup at the front leg of the claw, thats the one I entered through. I then ran out threw the entrance that can be seen in the pictures then headed around to the standard GA in time to get a great spot
  2. Thanks for the info.
had heard there was a slightly more central part of RZ than was opened up once lighting/rig crew had been takemn up into the claw. Any info on that ?

Don't think so. the lighting rigs you mention were already in place when we got there and throughout Snow Patrol. Once Snow Patrol finished they were lowered and the guys got on to the rig and were then hoisted back up into the claw

  5. Hi just bought two Red Zone tickets for the Cardiff gig and was wondering what do I get for the price... Is it's just a better view of the stage? Is there any extras? Not worried just wanted to know with them being expensive. Any info ?????
  6. Just a bump. since I posted this I am sure there have been more people there. Just looking for a review of the area and the procedure.

If you want to see the video/lights fully, then just outside the catwalk. I'm not sure you can get in the inner bit from Red Zone anyway.

Guarnateed clear side-view of stage and proximity to catwalk (ie +++ Bono & Edge close-ups). Seats for while you're waiting (better not bloody use them during the gig, for certain...). You're own bar/shop thing I think. Ability to leave/come back without losing your space. A souvenir laminate.

The knowledge that you selflessly gave to charity.

Say hello, I'll be sitting in GA at the catwalk, waiting on the painful cold floor whilst desparately needing a pee and not being able to go else I'll never get my position back....
  9. I had Red Zone tix in Gelsenkirchen. They're not bad but also not spectacular. In the Red Zone area you'll have your own merchandise "store" (with 3 t-shirts) and your own "sales cart" (selling no beer). You also have your own special toilet boxes (2 in GE) with a steward. Best thing was that a lot of the people with the Red Zone tix decided to queue in front of these for 10 minutes instead of using the "normal" toilets.
The view is great since you'll be directly at the catwalk (if you're there early enough) but you can also get into the inner circle with you wristband. Much more crowded there and the view is more restricted, though.
If you can get RZ tickets for about 10-20% above the price of a GA ticket, they're really worth it. Everything else is too expensive.

  10. The Red Zone here had its own entrance, merchandise, facilities and you could move inside the golden circle whenever you liked.

You could move around within the RZ, there was plenty of space and you are always no more than two people away from the rail.

We were on edges side and he came over 3 or 4 times and stopped right in front of us for great picture opportunities!

Loads of room, a fantastic view and well worth the price - see . http://www.flickr.com/photos/41487841@N03/3822025403/in/photostream/

Back again tonight - I have a spare RZ ticket - anyone? (nsewell@vindicouk.com)

  11. trouble is even if your in the red zone you wont see much of bono unless he changes his tactics he never left the front of the stage only twice

it was selfish of the band edge had shit himself he ahrdly walked all night and bono never used the rear and side of the stages

    a disgrace

  12. It looks like the Red Zone tickets for 2010 are no longer an auction. They are fixed price - so its first come first served.

The Vienna tickets are €272 each - so a lot more this time round......
