1. I stayed for the whole show and got approximately 10 minutes of sleep in the Dublin Airport.
  2. if I was in GA id have stayed. Was cool hearing it from outside too
  3. Hello, my first post!
This was my first U2 gig, and i was absolutley amazed, the claw is really something to behold! Been a fan for quite a few years now and was more than happy with the apparent 'standard' tour setlist, i only wish they had played Bad and Mysterious Ways, but apart from that i can't complain

The one thing i will never forget is how powerful Bono's voice was all night, was wonderful to see him nailing the falsetto notes on Unforgettable fire, he was fantastic! Edge, Adam and Larry were brilliant throughout aswell, superb musicians!
The sound cutting out on Walk On was only for about a minute or so but the band probably had very little idea of what was going on (some people started to boo but i think this was directed more at the engineers to make them fix the problem), Bono and the lads kept cool and everything got sorted within a few minutes. Could tell during MLK that something wasn't right, must've been a loose power cable or something!
Overall my 3 friends and I had an amazing time, we'll definatley go again if they tour the UK sometime next year, here's hoping they do! Being 20 it was great to see lots of other younger fans in the stadium too, certainly defies any doubts that the lads aren't relevant to modern day music.

One last thing, i brought a sign with me to the gig with the words 'Will play bass on Mysterious Ways' and one of the roadcrew took a picture of me with it! I was wondering if it might surface somewhere? Perhaps the official site? Any ideas? Thanks for reading!
  4. First 2009-08-18 Glasgow recording is up on U2torrents.

    Source - Sony EMC-719 > Edirol R-09HR > SOundforge 9.0 > Flac Level 6

Loaction - On pitch between stage and sound desk.

    Some Info:

The sound cuts out during Walk On but it wasnt my fault it was Joe's as the sound just dropped from the speakers.
The band just carried on completely oblivious to the fact that no one could here them. Kinda a funny moment seeing them playing away and not hearing a thing.
Had to cover the mic briefly during Elevation due to security walking past but didnt effect the much.
Sounds a tad tinny so feel free to remaster away to your hearts content if you so desire.

  5. Why not? Completely wrong thread by the way, we've got a Sheffield gig. Plus you could ask that question of any gig - 'why are so many going to X?'.

  6. 'coz it's for winners.

back on topic, I don't think a sound hickup that wasn't even their fault warrants a formal apology from the band.

  7. they all thought the Gothenburg shows were shite so are going to Sheffield to see a better show
  8. has anyone listened to the boot last night? Im prett sure they screwed up the intro to 'Magnificent' ?

    Thoughts on last nights gig......

    - Have wanted to see Glasvegas for a long time, think they wold be better in a smaller venue.
    - I was in GA , the sound (bar the Walk On debacle ) was superb, crystal clear and loud!
    - SHFWILF was great, very loud sing-along
    - UF was superb
    - UC worked really well, the karoake on the screen did help though!
    - Crazy Remix was ........different! If im being brutally honest i thought it was crap.
    - Streets was great, glad we got the extended intro...
    - He done the "hear me coming lord..." snippet during One, made my night !!

As for the encore, UV was great but not much of a reaction audience wise, and Bono spent most of the time faffing about with his fancy microphone! I thougt WOWY was prety poor, half arsed version from Bono. I love MOS but not a great choice as a closer me thinks! LHowever, my gf who isnt really a big U2 fan started crying during the song! I was shocked, made me very happy to know that she got carried away with the emotion of it all!

As for the 10.30 curfew, ive no idea why it wasnt later? I went to see Take That at Hampden a couple of months ago (my gf forced me to go...... Honest!) and the gig finished after 11pm, and that was on a Sunday night! Thought they would have finished later to stagger the traffic with the football finishing around 9.45!

So a great gig, really hoping for UTEOFW and Bad at Cardiff on Saturday but im certain that the set will be the same as last night! Bring it on though, a 7 hour car drive to look forward to with 4 of my mates!

  9. Epic fail warning right here.

  10. Not many from here went to Gothenburg anyway
