1. Boy. There's a good chance of Electric Co, I Will Follow, An Cat Dubh, Into The Heart, Out Of Control etc being played than anything from those other two albums. But then there's a good chance of having Gloria as well...

I'd love Gloria to make a 360 debut somewhere down the track but yeah you're right. The odds are definitely with Boy, although they could pull a Your Blue Room on us again do something really crazy like play Mofo or I Fall Down...

Gloria straight after Magnificent would work really well.

Maybe the songs from the lesser-known albums like Pop, Zooropa and October might get a run through on the 2010 dates - I'm still really curious as to what was played in that little secret rehearsal room in Barca!

They can't say that they don't play stuff from the more obscure albums either now - how much of a small percentage of those who have heard Blue Room live (actually at the shows) would name or even know about Original Soundtracks?

I still say Red Hill Mining Town is a possibility. I wonder if the only reason they're not doing it is because of Bono's voice and that he could never handle it. Well...instead, just sing the 'I'm hangin' on' parts in normal vocals or at least how he does the last lines in Ultraviolet. It can be done.

Same reason as I think they're holding back doing Wire and those other songs with more 'intense' vocals. But even as I'm writing this, I'm thinking if someone had told me back in May of this year that we would hear any of the rarely or never-played songs like Unforgettable Fire, Ultraviolet, Blue Room, Electrical Storm etc etc I would have told them it ain't gonna happen.

And now for the million-dollar question: where's Acrobat?
  4. i woulden't mind seeing sweetest thing take stuck in a moments place

  5. The only thing worse than a bad song is an even worse song. If it was gonna be Sweetest Thing, it has to be like the old 80s version, not the modern one.

  6. Yeah me too

But serious, U2 have gotta start playing some songs that are new to the tour, Your Blue Room was fine but we need new stuff. Fans that have paid £150 or dollars or whatever deserve to heard a old rare song that they haven't played for ages.
The setlist may have been played around with a little but the songs are still the same. Mix it up and put some POP songs and some Boy and October songs in there too.
We as massive U2 fans miss those songs and its the bands duty to satisy the fans. The people who want the 'popular and famous' songs will already have a best of CD so U2 don't need them to buy best ofs.
They should just go for it and play Discotheque, Last Night on Earth, both would fit great onto the 360 stage. Also I Will Follow needs to come back, 11 O'clock Tick Tock, The Electric Co., Gloria. I know if I was Bono I would experiment and have a go.

  7. Last time I checked, ticket prices were the same for "massive fans" and "people who want popular and famous songs"

they are, what does that have to do with the songs they play? Its that the view is supposedly better...

  9. Well, you argue that the "massive fans" deserve to hear rare songs because tickets cost 150 bucks and that the classics don't need to be played beacuse the "casual fans" already have them on Greatest Hits CDs at home.

Everyone pays the same, though. So the "casuals" have the same right to hear One as the "massives" to hear Drowning Man.

  10. If U2 are selling ticket prices up to £150 do you not agree that the setlist should be changed even a little? U2 have done enought shows for casual fans now, they surely must get a bit tired of playing the smae songs over and over, hundreds of time, bring back the old ones, that what I'm saying, you don't need to get all defensive of the boring, barely changing setlist.

I never said that they shouldn't change the set. I'm all for it.
I only think that the money thing is no argument. What about the people who bought the cheap tickets? Standard set for them, then get them out and play an encore for the expensive seats?

Same for the "casual fan" argument. What and who is a "casual fan" by the way? And why does he deserve less than a "massive fan"?
  12. I'm saying that U2 are really only playing for 'casual fans' to become more popular and sell more records really, I think. I think that all the prices of tickets should be £30 or lower, its not like U2 need the money. Everyone should obviously get the same setlist if they go to the same show, regardless of price. Everyone who goes to see U2 deserves to see a few suprises and exitement with the songs that are played, a little variety. Some people go to see them 3 or 4 times in one leg. I want a change in the setlist and more variety, play new songs we haven't heard at all live, like Acrobat or Red Hill Mining Town.
Sorry if it sounded like I was having a go at you.
