1. Can anyone who has been to a show or two already tell us how the sound was in the stadium? I'm wondering if the volume was LOUD throughout - no matter what seat you were in, and if the mixing was good so that you could hear each instrument well?

    Let us all know:
    1. What show you were at and where you're seats were
    2. If it was LOUD, and
    3. If the mixing was good so that you could hear each band member well.

    THANKS!!!!
  2. Tip of the elipse was very very loud but Bono sounded like a chimpmunk. Rest of the mix was good. That was Barcelona.

Second Barcelona show I was seated high up on Edge's side and the sound was muffled. Bonos vocals cleared up when he used the steering wheel mic.
  3. I was in GA for both Milan 1 and Paris 1....about 30 feet back...and then midway back

sound was excellent for both, very clear, nice and loud. i was very happy

  4. Milan 1
I was close to elipse, in front of the Edge, sound was brilliant, loud and clear.

Some of my friend had seats that were positioned ABOVE the level of speakers and sound was clear, but not loud enough.
  5. I'd especially like to know the first song that was played, if anyone knows it.

  6. Kingdom..or Breathe, but I hope you already know that one

I have found that Bono does have a high, chipmunk like voice when you hear him talk live
  8. Thanks MWSAH for the quick reply.
I realized just after posting my message that it wasn't very clear. (oh well, still getting over Friday & Saturdays shows at Croke Park!)
What I meant to ask was if anyone knows what music was played between the support groups finishing & U2 coming on. It seemed to be the same seqence of songs on both nights. The first one is still spinning in my head, but I don't know the name or who it's by, kinda driving me mad...
Thanks in advance for any help,
    Keith.
  9. for anyone interested, just had an answer over at u2.com for the first track played before U2 came on. It was Walking On a Dream by Empire of the Sun.
  10. Wembley Stadium, London 15Aug band played brilliantly but sound quality was pretty BAD.
Maybe depends where you are seated - we were mid tier kind of south east direction of the Claw.
Some songs were clearer than others - but generally whenever there were deep basslines the sound was just too muddy and poor. Atmosphere is one thing - but sound at a large stadium is always nowhere near as good as it could/should be.....

Shame too for supporting acts - Glasvegas are one of my favourite bands but the sound rumbling around Wembley stadium from their bass and drums just destroyed their set as it sounded so muddy the songs were nearly unrecognizeable! It gives people impression the band are bad rather than the sound mix in a large stadium.
