1. EDIT: Thanks to WojBhoy for kindly pointing out what turned out to be my massive error.

    Hey everyone,

I LOVE what Adam is doing in Streets during the "love-love-love" / "oh-oh-oh" part.

He did it in Milan I and Paris I, but not every night so far.

The 2 main chords in the song are D (hold 4 bars) - G (hold 4 bars). They repeat during that part.

When he loops from G back to D for the second round of "ohh's," he goes G - A - B and then back down to D.

    The 2nd time, transitioning inbetween D & G, Adam adds E - F# to walk up to the G.

Sounds technical, here it is, from 5:48 - 6:00:

(This FIRST link cuts right to the part, the embedded video player below you have to scroll to 5:48 by yourself.)

Anyone else catch that? Anyone else like it?

(PS - Streets is no spoiler - the title is probably unnecessary.)

Who are those people walking off the outer circle on the beginning of that video?
  3. Bump. Attempt # 2.

Don't worry - if it doesn't catch this time I won't push it again
  4. I'm gonna take your word for it mate but my speakers have shit bass lol and rarely plays YT well at the best of times, I'll check the boots and see if they give a better idea

I am a bit confused though, you're talking about A's and D's etc. but to me it sounds like he's playing D's & G's...

My bad, you're right. I wrote the whole thing in the wrong key, correct relatively. Allow me to correct.

(When I play this on guitar, to compensate for 1/2 step down pre-Vertigo Tour, I would put a capo on the 4th fret, and play A-shaped chords and D-shaped chords adjusted to play the Db and Gb, so I could take advantage of those 2 open droning strings... my mistake)
  6. I have no idea what you're on about, but it does sound cool
  7. Just noticed that he's doing this with City of Blinding Lights too! I'm liking this revival of funky Adam.

lol no worries mate glad to be able to help. Like I said, I was getting seriously confused and was worried that my entire understanding of the song hitherto was complete crap!
  9. On Coggster's recording of Wembley 1, you can hear the new bassline really well, especially on the first chorus
  10. I personally think that this is pretty much Adam's Tour, he works hard to connect, he's really playful and seems to be the one enjoying these gigs the most, plus he jams quite a bit, in further gigs beginning from Amsterdam I think, he makes the Streets bassline even more eleborate, especially in the chorus, Listen to Croke III he got the guts to try all sorts of new stuff on Streets, COBL, NLOTH, and other songs, his new picking bassline for Walk On is brilliant and really propells it forward, he just became one of my favorite bass players.
I always loved his taste for great hooks and riffs especially evident in the first 3 albums, but as he developed he moved to accentuating Larry's grooves rather than pushing forward melodically (Kite and Lemon are good examples) which was also good but a bit boring at times, yet I always found him quite slumpy as a live instrumentalist.
Now his playing is so professional and eloquent, and he's verry melodic and groovy at the same time, it's like a combo of the playing approaches of So Cruel with Two Hearts beat As One, I think that it's a new creative peak for him and you can tell that it inspires the band a lot, I love it.

I agree 100%. This is his tour and album. Was standing at the front at Croke Park right in front of him. He was absolutely amazing. Forgot the other three were on stage. And this is from an "Edge-Fan"!!!
