1. I can appreciate why you might find it a bit boring...it is indeed a rather serene album. I need to give it another listen. In fact, I still haven't had a chance to get back to it and listen to the last couple of tracks - including True Love Waits!
  2. Every opinion is different of course. I like serene songs like Videotape (in my top 3 Radiohead songs), Codex or Sail To The Moon.
This just sounded bland and self-indulgent to me. Then again, I'm not a die-hard fan of this band since In Rainbows.
  3. True Love Waits is the best part of the album. It's not a good sign if the best part of the album is a 20 year old song.
  4. I honestly haven't found anything Radiohead have done post OK Computer to be interesting. I love the first three albums, I really do, but the rest have never grabbed me. After In Rainbows I stopped caring and again won't bother with this new album.
  5. I am enjoying the new album. Nice to hear the sounds of guitars and strings from the band again! First 4 albums I love (Kid A probably my favourite). I did not care for Amnesiac or Hail To The Thief. Took me a while to get into In Rainbows but I have had that album on heavy rotation. KIng Of Limbs was pure rubbish to me. Nice to have various studio versions of a fair amount of tracks that have been debuted in concerts over the year. I love Identikit and The Numbers! Hope they release a version of this album Live From The Basement.
  6. I find it difficult to separate Kid A from Amnesiac. Sure, the latter is a bit of a mess in terms of sequencing (and Morning Bell/Amnesiac is awful) but it still has many great songs.

I always thought Four Minute Warning would have been a better closer than Videotape.

But as you stated, opinions will differ.
  8. On the second listen, I'm just kicking back, relaxing. This is a much better way to take in the new album (as opposed to running).
  9. listened the first 7 and half on my way to office .. quite early but first impression is i'm .. impressed .. very very promising .. Ful Stop ..
time to make up to little Thom and Jonny hehe
  10. I listened to the two singles so far, and that's all but I'll give this album a listen in the next few weeks. I enjoyed Burn The Witch quite a bit, the video sure is something else.
  11. the order of the tracklist has been very thought out
  12. Haven't listened yet but it's better than TKOL, right?
