1. Sorry if I'm repeating a question that has been brought up before/in a different forum...I can't see very many topics in this one, so I'm not sure if they're old and have vanished or what not...anywho, I was just wondering...it seems to me like U2 didn't play Where The Streets Have No Name during some of their shows on the Joshua Tree tour (like the Paris one released on iTunes and elsewhere)...and so I was wondering if you all knew why that was...I found it a bit odd (since I don't believe they've skipped Vertigo or City of Blinding Lights during a major show ever, have they?). Thanks!
  2. the paris show was one of the FEW examples in europe where they just didnt play it. (Mainly because the shows started during the day and the lights for streets would look strange). later on it opened the encore i think .
  3. They opened a few Vertigo shows with Love & Peace Or Else.

Who knows, they get bored with the same opener, they want to test the crowd, piss off the crowd, or because they're the band and they can open with whatever they want for whatever reason.
  4. Yes, the reason is they felt streets not to be the right song during daylight.

I was at one of these gigs without streets in Cologne back than. Instead of Streets they openened with Stand by me and C´mon everybody that also made a big impression!!! Unfortunately these are not encluded on the Paris DVD...
  5. Gotcha. Yeah, but at least they played Vertigo and COBL during those shows where they opened with Love and Peace. I just found it weird that they didn't play Streets...that's all. Thanks for the feedback (no pun intended, lol)!
