1. Just a quick point to make about the listed snippets you have on your bootlegs;

None of them make reference to Beethoven's 9th symphony, which is snippeted (albeit on a backing track) at the start of GOYB.

Since they did 'Stars and Stripes' instead at the first ever live performance (something they may end up doing while touring in America) it's been included but there's no guarantee that this will stay this way.

Anyway any views? Other than what a prat I am
  2. That's prerecorded so not actually live. Thats why its not a snippet. When Bono sings 'How long to sing this song' at the end of Bad, THEN it's a snippet

By the way, U2start takes the setlists from U2gigs.com, so if you have a suggestion about the setlist, contact them.
  3. I dont know how strict the definition of a snippet is. But i think its only a snippet when its performed live, not on a backing track.

Also u2start links their setlists with u2gigs, we cant/wont change the setlist because we'd like to give accurate and general accepted setlists.

So if you really want Beethoven as a snippet you should contact u2gigs.com and discuss it with them. To be honest i dont think they will change the setlist because its not a live rendition of Beethoven's 9th.

Finally now I understand it to, never knew that is has to be played live tnks
  5. I must say I disagree with such an assertion. U2 have clearly chosen to include such a tune in a live gig which in my opinion must count as a snippet. So much of what U2 have performed live has involved a backing track/loop which in turn counted towards the live act.

Are people going to dismiss songs such as Magnificent, NLoTH, TUF, Breath, Elevation, MoS as well as classic songs from the last few years such s Lemon, Mofo, Kite etc should not be included because they have a backing track that is a significant part of the 'live' version?

For me, even if on a backing track, if the version is played live on a backing track it is clearly a part of a live version and should be included as part of a live song.

Noticed I think this way is best, on your way we can also include the PA songs at the start which will make it a big mess.
  7. And they've also forgot snippet in Walk On in Glasgow - it has to be" Walk On / Silence (snippet)"

A snippet has to be performed by one ore more band members. That is the unwritten rule at the moment. (Im not saying you're wrong but this is the way it is at the moment)

But again, your best option is to contact u2gigs and discuss it with them because u2start doesnt 'do' setlists Even the setlists on the bootlegpages come directly from u2gigs
  9. Fair enough.

    Ahhh Now I get it...

    The most recent
    snippet
    I noticed
    was Edge playing
    Time after time Cyndy Lauper
    as the intro
    to
    Yahweh.

    Sounded really beautiful.
