1. Thus far on the tour the following bands have opened up;

    Snow Patrol
    Kaiser Chiefs
    Damien Dempsey
    Glasvegas
    Republic of Loose
    The Script
    Bell X1
    Elbow
    The Hours

Who impressed you the most/least and would you go to one of their gigs after this?

Also for people going back who are the best opening act that you've ever seen live?
  2. You can really can only compare if you've seen several shows...I was thoroughly disappointed with Glasvegas. I love their album, but they were terrible live. Damien Dempsey seemed completely out of place. Kaiser Chiefs rocked Croke though...missed the 1st act before Dublin 2. Don't even know who it was.
  3. I liked Elbow, great showmen, great set
  4. Saw Snow Patrol in Zagreb. They were neither bad nor amazing.
  5. Seeing Elbow and The Hours twice, impressed with both at Wembley, hope they'll be as good tomorrow night

EDIT - if anyone wants to pay for me to go see one of the NY gigs with Muse supporting, you wouldn't find me turning you down
  6. Snow Patrol blew me away in Barcelona. Instantly became a fan. The Kaisers had a massive go at it for Croke 2 and managed to warm them up nicely.
  7. Saw Elbow at Wembley and thought they were really good,Glasvegas were not very good the next day.But going back saw Spear Of Destiny support U2 at Wembley in 87 and they were brilliant as were The Longpigs on the Popmart Tour.
  8. although i aint seen elbow support u2.they are however brilliant live, seen them 4 times and every time they have been sublime.

kaisers were surprisingly good in paris, the hours were really good on saturday, and snow patrol are always brillant live.

    glasvegas were crap on saturday.

but the best support band will be muse.

they are the 2nd best live band on the planet./new york will be amazing.
  9. Only saw three (Damien .., Glasvegas and Snow Patrol) but Snow Patrol really was my favorite. Great show each time.
  10. I know it hasn't happened yet, but I am seeing them on the US leg and CAN NOT STAND the fact that the black eyed peas are opening up for them. I hope they either break up or get thrown in jail before it happens. That they are playing on the same stage is a joke.
  11. Only seen The Hours and Elbow, seeing them again tomorrow. The hours are quite good but Elbow are just a fine band, was really expecting to not like them both but was impressed.
  12. I saw Elbow open for Cold Play in Toronto about 2wks ago I thought they were great
