    Same here. I haven't always been as into them as I have been the last 10 years or so, but they have been the soundtrack to my life, nonetheless.

    As for me, my first U2 experience must have been around 1998, when my father bought The Best Of 1980-1990. We listened to the record in the car, and I remember being astonished, from the first Pride notes to the last October ones.
    However, that did not go further until 2005. My parents only had this best of and War at home, so... but when the Bomb came out, I really liked Vertigo, Sometimes and City of Blinding Lights. Afterwards, I got the album, and from then on, I really have become fond of the band.

  8. I'm watching Come Dine With Me (a cookery competition TV programme in the UK) and there is an American U2 fanatic on it. She said "I've been a U2 fan since 1985 and one time when I met Bono in New York, he said "you again!?""
    There's a commentator on the programme too, and when she arrived at the guy's door, he said "Here comes Bono's stalker".
    Also, before the commercial break, he said "John tries to offer Lyn desire". U2 hints there.

    Irrelevant to anything, I know, but I'm just bored and felt like posting it.
