1. Nah you did alright on it. Nice control of the voice I noticed too.

It is a chat thread after all!
  2. Well it's good to see that General Chat is now getting well used rather than it being bumped all the time.
  3. That's what it's there for.

  4. That actually made me laugh... but maybe it's true, but I still have my voice from about a year ago when I started singing in my head For how long have you been singing?

  5. Everyone is free to join the chat
  6. About six months. I couldn't sustain a note before and then I started learning breath control, vibrato and all that kind of technical stuff and putting it all together to see what I could do.

I also found out recently, as obvious as it sounds is, for those bigger and longer songs, you need to stand rather than sit.

I've gone from totally terribly horrible from where I am now where people actually say I can sing... I think I may just have earned the right to be proud.

I sang without any technique for maybe 9 months and lately I've used the internet to find out more about technique and learned so much... Now I have the Breaking the Chains Vocal Course from Kevin Richards (the youtube guy I linked to).
  8. Exactly, and you do feel proud when you finally achieve where you're trying to get to.

''It's a journey not a destination, and I just can't tell what tomorrow brings''. Perfectly describes it.

I'll have to check out his videos too. Any advice is good advice.

Some of them helped me a lot... I actually bought his vocal course

I wouldn't say I've achieved it yet, KR says it takes about 5 years of really good practice to get as good as it can... There's hope
  10. Have starting to sing changed your normal speech?
  11. The head voice one is great. I'll look into that a little further. Five years isn't that long either but yeah, constant practice is key.

I'm about to head off anyway as I have to get up in like three hours. I've enjoyed this far more than sleeping though. We gotta chat again too!
  12. Nope, still same mid-range speech as before. With age and other factors - I'm 23 - it's probably because of that.
