Very very early WOWY (talking opening shows of JT) were played without the loop.
  2. I'm gonna have to check that out...do you have any specific recommendations for shows?
  3. Bono might actually sing it stripped back. ''Does he sing this song?''

Go for 1987-06-27 and 1987-11-07. Far as I can remember, they're both good shows.

  4. 04-04 Tempe i'm pretty sure of.

edit : That's the correct show. The loop seems to die after half a second. Sounds lovely without it.

  5. If only Bono's voice was up to it

  6. Yeah, Tempe. I always get Tempe and Tampa mixed up

    **off to check it...

  7. *Tempe

And yes, it was the end of the tour in Tempe (since it began and ended in the same place) that Bono's voice was horrid. A show in December is the one you may be thinking of.

EDIT: Just checked the show info on U2gigs and it appears I am wrong. His voice was bad at the start, not the end.
  8. Haha, check the Best Version Of Streets thread I made the same mistake last week. I thought the begining of the leg show was the one where everybody was so positive about. So I started listening and Bono's voice really sounded very weak and I was like WTF are they all talking about

  9. The old desert air syndrome. His voice seemed fine by night 2 though.
