1. I remember how excited I was when Larry was less than half a metre away from me. That was exciting. And seeing Adam standing there in front of where I was for like 30 seconds - that was unbelievable. It just shows what running into the stadium even when it's wet as all fuck can get you (and suffering through Jay-Z). I've never seen a band up so close and they all looked so damn awesome. I can't believe you got Out Of Control either. Any other songs surprise you?

I would never go seats for any show unless that was the absolute only option (left or otherwise). Damien Leith, a beautiful Irish singer-songwriter has only seats at his show (he's popular with the older demographic - where I feel most comfortable with) and Meat Loaf is apparently all seated. When something like Song of Madness or Life Is A Lemon comes on, nobody's gonna be able to stay seated. I think the only other show that was seated was Alice Cooper. Ha, when School's Out started you couldn't keep anyone seated. Weird Al was seated too, that was a fantastic show, probably one of the best I've ever been to. NuGnR was standing - thankfully.

That would have been something to see.
  2. Well they closed with One Tree Hill, so yeah

I LOVE Life is a Lemon. Even the shows I've been to that were all seated, people stood for. Stood on my chair the first time I saw Kings of Leon, and my first concert ever was Bon Jovi in 2005, all seated, but we were 23 rows from the stage so we were standing along with the entire floor too
  3. WHAAAATTTTTT? You got One Tree Hill - my third-favourite U2 song of all time??? Noooooooo!!!!

LIAL is just so damn good, and the 'defective' section gets me every time. But there's some great stuff after Bat 2 as well, but not as cohesive. Couldn't Have Said It Better, Welcome To The Neighbourhood, Bat 3 (that pisses me off) and the one after that have some great stuff thrown in with some absolute mediocrity.

Were Bon Jovi good? From what I've seen they put on a hell of a show but video doesn't capture it so well.
  4. They were literally mind blowing, though it was my first concert EVER so I was biased I'm sure. They just tore the roof off the fuckin' place.

And yeah, OTH wasn't even on the setlist...and they WEREN'T going to play Moment of Surrender either. Bono got through introducing Moment of Surrender, and then said something about not being able to play it for us, and then after a few minutes he said "Ah, we'll play it anyway". And then Edge yelled something to Dallas in the underworld after MOS, and he brought out the guitar for OTH, and they figured it out on the spot. Really magical. Edge messed up the solo quite a bit, but they haven't touched the song since what, February or so? It was insanely cool to see.

I hated Hang Cool Teddy Bear, which is the only thing I've listened to post-Bat2. Loved Bat and Bat 2. Always wanted to check out Neighbourhood- they have it at my library for rent. Maybe I should rip it.

Nice talking to you Drew but I've got to head out- big day planned, taking my girlfriend to lunch/shopping, mini-rehearsal with our bass player, and then heading to a bar tonight with some people. Stay classy, and have a great day! Thanks for the great conversation
  5. I have to see Bon Jovi one day. Next time they come I'm there. One Tree Hill is always amazing no matter where or when it's played - it's got that something about it, like when you hear Streets or Pride and you know there's something special about to happen.

Hang Cool wasn't bad but it's not my favourite. Probably my favourite Meat album is either Neighbourhood or Dead Ringer - I'm a big fan of theatrics and balladry, so those albums were perfect. If you do see Neighbourhood, pick it up - actually, any Meat album besides Hang Cool is worth picking up. Alright, cool I shall talk to you later and have a great day!!!!
  6. After being a u2start member for almost six years now I finaly managed to get myself an avatar Me shaking hands with The Edge two years ago...still damn proud of it

p.s. just noticed that this is my 666st post, am I haunted??
  7. I can't see your avatar from my mobile phone, but I must agree that six years (it's five, by the way! Late 2006, like me) and six-six-six posts seems good enough for an important thing like that
  8. scratch that, I've gone on the normal site for a moment and seen your avatar! It's great!!! Where did you meet him?

  9. Still 5 years without avatar is something to mention Picture is taken on July 21st 2009, before the Amsterdam II show

  11. A gal who I have liked for years is back in town, and not leaving anytime soon, to the best of my knowledge. I'm considering asking her out. I haden't seen her in almost two years, but shes exactly the same as I remember.

Sounds like a perfect excuse to ask someone out...
