    For this one I'd like to recommend the National - High Violet. If you don't mind some gloom and sadness, I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up in your top 5 by December. Exceptional beauty, I'm pretty sure for me it will remain the ultimate release of 2010.

    Thanks for the recommendation- I loved the song "Fake Empire" from their last album, but never got a chance to hear the whole thing...I'll definitely listen to High Violet sometime soon. I'm picking up the headphones again this week after taking the weekend + monday off, so check back soon and I'll put it in an update for you!

    My favorite radio station in Chicago, WXRT has a Facebook page and they uploaded this little message....


    For as long as U2 makes music, and perhaps, even after their retirement, up-and-coming vocalists will always be compared to Bono. While plenty of singers have certainly deserved the comparison, quite a many few have not. Steven McKellar of Civil Twilight, most certainly does, sounding eerily like the Dublin frontman from the very first note.

    Civil Twilight are a three piece rock band that originate from Cape Town, South Africa. Currently based in Nashville, TN. This song, “Letters from the Sky” was the iTunes free single of the week in October of ’09 and is now the centerpiece of the band’s full-length major label, self-titled debut.

Feel free to follow us/bookmark the page to check up on some music reviews, and DEFINITELY PM me with album ideas- It'd be a great help! I've got the obvious/popular releases pegged, but suggestions are ALWAYS welcome!
