1. Please, no more Pride..... How about One Tree Hill, Acrobat, or another War song (less NYD, SBS). Its becoming a "greatest hits" tour. Vertigo tour was great because they played An Cat Dubh, The Ocean, Into the Heart, Gloria, etc.... Give me VERTIGO again!!
  2. Hi guys

    How are you all?

Just arrived home and saw the setlist

I like this setlist, but I think the old sequence "Unknown Caller/The Unforgetable Fire" was a highlight of the shows. I love seeing Until The End back, but I think they could play it earlier.

I didn't listen to "One / Streets" yet, but I think it'd be great

    Greetings from Brazil
  3. Still hoping for IWF or Electric Co. on Sunday in Foxboro.
  4. Damn good setlist. I keep wishing I could have seen it, but then I remind myself that I got Bad at my first ever U2 show...what a treat.
  5. Great to see the band playing a little bit of Elvis Costello. they did Oliver's Army during SBS on Chicago 1 and Pump it Up/ Allison for Toronto. Cool stuff guys.
  6. Okay I'm officially pissed off - what gives with the band?

Your Blue Room - while I don't think has quite hit the heights of its record version - is still such a beautiful song and a clear example of the band mixing up new things for the North American leg of the tour, as they did on the last tour.

On the European leg of the Vertigo tour the band rarely changed too much in the setlist, at least compared to the American leg. So what gives?

Why do the quieter crowds of the States and Canada generally get more of a setlist mix up? Maybe I'll be wrong but I'm betting that the first Pop song of the tour debuts in the States. Discotheque was played there on Vertigo yet the feeling is that Pop is much more of a European abum. It certainly did better critically here.

I saw four fantastic shows of this tour in Europe but its disconcerting that the band are appealing more to the hard core fans of the States and somewhat ignoring the fact that several hard core fans from Europe (many on these pages) do not get the same opportunities as over there.

Maybe we're more critical over here, and they feel compelled to play a safer set list to appease us.

Don't get me wrong, I love the band, but just wonder why they seem to do more over there than here.

  7. I disagree very much. I was at 8 European show and from what I've seen from the US shows so far, I must say that, apart from Your Blue Room, the setlists for most European shows were much more varied and better. I'm actually glad I visited shows in Europe and not in the US. But then again, we're just 4 shows in and it could all change within the next weeks. I'm not even very keen on YBR. I love the song on the album, but I don't think it's a great live song. At the concerts I went to, I got so many great songs I'd never dreamed of hearing played by the band. Sadly, some of them seemed to be dropped by now, but overall, I'm very glad I went to the European shows and think U2 did a great job theres.
  8. UTEOTW seems less energetic nowadays then the performances over here.

They'raving over a big anouncement on U2.com in the coming days, curious what that is
  9. Give me ES above your blue room everyday.

Also people forget they did change a lot in europe. It started in Barcelona, you cant expect them to change the whole show every day!

I went to both Amsterdam shows and saw 5 changes between both nights. Good enough for me

Agree... I was on 4 shows and on every I heard 3 songs I didn't hear on previous shows... and there aren't 2 european shows in a row with the same setlist.
and if I compare it with Vertigo tour in Europe...

And we have just 3 shows from 2nd leg and there is just 1 new song and 2nd and 3rd show has exactly the same setlist... so I don't know what Kaiser Jose is talking about

    The Unforgettable Fire
    Ultraviolet
    Stay
    Stuck In A Moment
    In A Little While
    Electrical Storm
    Your Blue Room
    MLK

All played on this tour. In addition to 7 new songs every night. Vertigo had the songs you list and only 4 regulars from the accompanying album. Time to check your facts.

    Love this current setlist

How was the performance, do we know?
