Easily the best album out this year, it's going to be the one to beat if SOA is released this

i heard it, i thought it was pretty good, but no where near the best album of the year, that honor definately goes to Josh Ritter's So Runs The World Away, it's freakin' amazing! it came out in march and most of the songs still give me chills whenever i hear them, just an incredible, beautiful album
  2. Best album out this year is Night Work by Scissor Sisters.
  3. 2010 has been an awful year for albums. I don't think I've heard one good album that was out this year.

  4. Uh, High Violet?
  5. Songs of Ascent, anyone?
  6. going back to what Paul McGuinness said, it does seem to be grossly optimistic about this, i mean two years ago they said exactly the same thing about No Line On the Horizon and we had to wait another year, and with the tour in Europe as well as that rumoured to be down under, i would think it would more likely be out after Christmas before the North American leg

Amen, yes. But the prospects of getting an album together before Christmas may be tempting. Though I don't really believe they're going to make it.

true, i guess really its down to how much work they have already done, they recorded in vancover after the last 2nd leg show so some stuff could be on the verge of being finished; maybe the 2/3 songs we have already heard, but i wonder about the exstent to which the other 5-8 songs have been worked on
  9. There are a few songs from the NLOTH sessions; I don't think they'd be short of songs really. But we know how maniac and perfectionist they can be - even too perfectionist sometimes. Takes them ages to polish the last details etc. Not to mention that North Star isn't finished yet (if it's going to end up in the album).
