1. Whilst thinking about the songs they've been playing and whether or not they're going to be on the new album, does anyone have the thought:

"what the hell is return of the stringray guitar?"

Not in terms of not knowing what song it is, just knowing what exactly it is. It's not really a song at all, seems very unfinished, and it sounds nothing like Every Breaking Wave and North Star, then again, those songs haven't been played full band yet. Hard to say.
  2. I'd love Stingray to make it on any album. Not the exact way it's played but little bits remind me of And The Gods Made Love by Jimi Hendrix.

    Every Breaking Wave
    North Star
    Mercy
    Stingray
    Winter
    All My Life

These songs I want in an album!

*The newly polished 'Winter' finishes playing, the choral chanting slowly fading from sound*

    WAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!

    DER-DER

    WAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!

    DER-DER

    *Facepalm*

I bet you any fucking money that's how it's gonna go.
  4. p.s. Am I the only person who doesn't give a fucking about the song 'Glastonbury'?

Stingray Guitar is an outtake from The Unforgettable Fire sessions, it was an unfinished instrumental song which was never released in any form, and they should have thought it would be cool to rescue it from their archives' depths and open the shows with it. But I don't think it's a serious song (if you know what I mean, a song in which they're gonna put any efforts or whatever), and OF COURSE I don't think it's gonna be released at all.

I really don't think that is true. Didn't we already discuss that?

I was thinking the same about "Soon"...

maybe an album opener, although u2s never really had an album opener, they always have a 'proper' song. cud work well if its used in a Fez-Being Born kinda way. Or they cud add more lyrics too it and make a 4 minute song. either way i hope it features in some form cuz i really like it

  9. I think that it's the worst piece of music they ever played.

Speaking of Danger Mouse album, I want brand new songs, not the ones we've heard before.

Putting Mercy on the new album would be ridiculous since we know that song for years now.

Put North Star and Every Breaking Wave on Songs of Ascent if you wish, but with Danger Mouse give us something fresh.
