1. Because no matter the future
We believed in rock and roll
    Why we are here
    Wrong or not

    Porque no importa el porvenir
Creimos en el rock and roll
    Por eso estamos aquí
    Equivocados o no

    SORRY for the #OffTopic
  2. I'd generally consider putting U2 in the first group that Sergio mentioned, they are a band that has been guaranteed success in the charts with almost every release. The last album they released that didn't have a top ten single in the UK, prior to No Line On The Horizon, was October. The reason that they fell short this time was because they released poor singles. I'm surprised that Get On Your Boots even made it to 12. People must've been blindly clicking away, assuming U2 equals great. One listen to that song and you know that it's barely even worth the effort of downloading illegally. As for the album, they would've been better off releasing a best of 2000-2010 compilation, throwing one (two at a push) of the new songs on there to help it sell and continued to complete the greatest hits tour that we saw with 360.

The new album will be a laugh if Bono's lyrics have continued to deteriorate over the past four years.
  3. Most would argue (and have argued, including me) that his vocals have been the best in the past tour than anytime from 1993 on... Although I wouldn't expect him to improve them in any way. They can only decline, but I don't think that's a bad thing in itself... Unless they want to keep on playing vocally-demanding songs like Pride, SBS or Vertigo. Or writing new vocally-demanding songs, for that matter.

    Lyrics, not vocals.

  6. Whooops, sorry. Misread that. I agree, and in fact a lot of lyrics in the Bomb are pretty dull too.

More rumors about U2's album plans, these from @U2 reader Gary Paul, who met up Thursday in Dublin with Steve Lillywhite (who's there to work on his RTE TV show, The Hit). Paul tweeted about the brief conversation yesterday, saying "DEFINITELY NOT this year !!! Roll On Next Year #U2 #NewAlbum" and then confirmed in a reply to our question that he was referencing comments from Lillywhite.

Lillywhite told Ireland's Today FM today that he was recently visiting with Bono, so that could be the source of his knowledge of U2's plans. But again, this is all unconfirmed and should be considered rumor.

After last week's rumors from Universal Music Italy, we reached out to our contacts to ask if the album would be out in 2013 or 2014. A contact at Universal Music North America had "no info to share," and a spokesperson for U2's PR team was unable to get an answer for us from Principle Management.

It seems to me....THAT LARRY SHOULD BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF THIS BAND.
  8. BRUTAL!
  9. Becoming like The Rolling Stones. 5 plus years between albums. Then the big tour.

edit: And where to put my close friend Kanye? Yeezus doesn't seem to belong in any of those groups.

Love JT and Kanye. Nice to see other fans on here too.

  11. Heard it too on Dutch radio today.
