1. Douglas for the rock, Flood for the ambient and funkier tracks. I could just imagine a U2-2010 album with songs like Somebody and Mofo.
  2. I'm not that keen on Flood. I don't think he did a great job on POP, even though I love the album... it could have been better, even mantaining the funky beat and the overall feeling.

But yes, I'd like something different this time, too. I don't know if I want acoustic tracks with violins and ethereal guitars, or funky rockers... I just want something different

    Industrial metal and trip-hop.
  4. To be honest, i'll just be happy to get away from a mediative, Fez inspired album. Change of direction needed
  5. Hi, I am a u2 fan of over 20 years. I care that U2s new songs are not now played on the radio in the UK. I care that their singles do nothing in the charts. I care that there is no New Years Day, Pride, With or Without you, I still Havent Found One, Streets, Desire, Even Better than The Real Thing, One Vertigo, Beautiful Day on the new album. These are songs that are played now on the radio.

What I love about u2 is that they (made) great songs which are liked by many. Hell, even SYCMIOYO is loved by many non U2 fans.

I love to spread the gospel to as many non U2 fans as possible. From 2000 to 2005 I was able to convert many people to U2 who sais 'hey, just heard the new U2 song on the radio, its great'. I cringed when they released GOYB. I sometimes blush listning to it in the car (and I am on my own!).

Get back to making popular songs for the masses is what I say.

I love U2 so much, but even now, for the very first time, im thinking - they should maybe just call it a day. I do not want to ever be embarresed by them, and right now I am thinking I could be if they release another of those 'experimental' albums.

I remember seeing Bono on TV in the Uk when Beautiful Day hit the top of the charts. He said it was one of their best days ever. I believe he really truly meant it. They worked very hard to get back the audience they lost with Pop, and came out probably more popular than ever. I dont think they will be as lucky next time if they mess up again.

    Oh, how I love U2start!
  7. Q magazine predicts a new U2 album for late 2010.

'New songs and not No Line on the Horizon: The Leftovers. Don't expect it until after Glastonbury, though.'
