1. Ok, I just finished watching the show again on my TV and will admit it wasn't nearly as bad as expected (though this might just be due to the novelty of watching a U2 concert in its entirety, i'm pretty sure if i just listened to the audio I would have a different opinion)

It was not a stellar show - the crowd utterly failed at any kind of singalong and Bono was off on some key songs (eg. MoS) but it was passable and if they do a few overdubs here and there might be ok on DVD. It was disappointing to see that the Claw's lightshow was watered down for some reason though, it is by far the tour's biggest drawcard.

  2. lol, that bad huh? Believe me, I'd love to, but as it is it's 2am on the UK side of the pond and I've got a seminar in 9 hours for which I'm supposed to be reading at least 30-40 pages worth of stuff with which I have to then subsequently proceed to dazzle my fellow undergrads and seminar tutor with knowledge of, therein. Hence forth, I think I shall return to this fair land of U2 nutdom later on in the week when I can afford to spend some time doing serious catch-up.
  3. Looks like the figures are in and they're quoting an estimated 2.5 million unique viewers on the webcast from about 7 million pageviews. Do you think they'll be happy with that?

    Source.

I'm thinking they didn't show all their tricks on the live feed. The claw has to be featured more on the DVD!

That's pretty disappointing, less than some prime time TV shows here manage to pull.
Especially when it got front page billing on YouTube and anyone around the world was able to tune in.

I can't say im surprised. When you consider that it was on in the middle of the night in Europe, as well as midnight here on the east coast of the united states, with the next day being a work day, 2.5 million or so isn't that bad. If it was shown at a more convenient time i think these numbers would have been higher

Yeah, I'd like to see the unique views for the re-broadcasts and views of the video in the subsequent days added in and see a more accurate picture of the audience size.
  9. The one thing that will be a bit of a downer for me, is that this will be the Tours DVD release, great to have it streamed, i can now watch it again & again on the ipod ....but when it comes out, we would have watched it over & over again anyway.

Obviously they will most likely overdub a few things here & there, maybe throw in some wider shots of the stage at times etc, but it;s still the same gig, i won't be anywhere near as excited to watch it as the other DVD's, rushing to buy it, and watching over & over again, can't say i'll do the same here, not because of the crowd, performance etc, but because we already have it.

Maybe they should have just left this as the Youtube broadcast and perhaps sold it off to PAY tv or something like that, even as a pay per view type of thing.
