1. If that was a reason to omit a song then we would just have his speeches on a DVD.
  2. the opener is an odd one to cut. They were always gonna cut something. Shame it's the opener. Odd indeed.
  3. Well it is a change that they record a 'one-nighter'. Of course they will patch some issues using other footage, but it is not easy. Stadium is really different than the others. Will be limited to patched close ups.

Bono screwed some lyrics, but nothing one can't fix - so difficult to understand really...

  5. Sometimes he screws those too E.g. the beginning of ISHF in the Milan DVD...
  6. Not gonna buy it. Atmosphere and so dind't do it for me in that show.
How can Breathe be cut out, as it's the opener
Seems the same as they did with the UABRS video, thank goodness that was restored wit the DVD version.
The Berlin timelapse , is that the Brandenburger Tor gig? That would be a good reason to buy

By the way, how can it be on Amazon but still no news on u2.com?
Unbelievable, 113 pounds, must be gold or so

nope it's just a timelapse of a claw build and take down. Same as we've had on other DVD's

    No, that's how it's listed.
Looks plausible compared to other U2 DVDs. And leaves much room for the "special format" on the Super Deluxe.

Yeah, what's your guess to what 3 and 6 might be?
  9. I'm utterly speechless..

I've stood behind this DVD release since before it was even officially announced, and I'm especially pleased it's being released on BluRay (most BluRays contain ALL of the special perks that the DVD formats do combined, so we might get lucky and see a chock-full BluRay with a slightly raised price than it's at right now), but cutting "Breathe"? Somebody had better change that up NOW. Unless there was a serious problem with the ehco-recorded sound, which I thought they could fix, there's no reason to leave that off the DVD proper. Having to run some easter-egg-experiment every time I want to watch pro-shot 360° is bullshit.

I'm intrigued to look into the Super Deluxe, especially to see if the price will go down, and I'm also curious about some of those bonus features. Other than that, I'm happy...I mean, we've had blasphemy in one form or another on just about EVERY DVD, but it's been almost always bearable too. This one is just...seriously, you couldn't have chosen a WORSE song to cut: not because it's that fantastic (even though I think its a fantastic opener), but because it's what starts the show. Are we just gonna get a fade in with Kingdom playing, and then the "future needs a big kiss" backing track as the band is already on stage? Larry taking the stage to Kingdom is not only epic, but it picks up right where Vertigo//Chicago left off, with Larry being the only one left! Even though Milan was released between then and now, Chicago was the last FULL U2 concert to be properly released, and it's somewhat symbolic to pick up right where they left off. I'm angered.

Time will tell, though, and I'm not pitching my hopes out the window quite yet. I'm angry...but I'll wait, too.
  10. ok they are NOW beginning to lose me

    if this is for real

    wtf are they thinking
  11. All this over unofficial announcements.....?!

Think some should take a chill pill ....
