1. Disagreement is welcome/expected on the forums- the inability to acknowledge that it's healthy, friendly, and in good taste is what seems to turn people against each other on these threads...

Loved: Ultraviolet, No Line on the Horizon, Moment of Surrender

Hated: In a Little While, certain editing elements, not enough still shots of just the band. Too much like a movie and not enough like a memoir that takes you back if you were there.

Anyway, its not that bad. We are just spoiled with dozens of better performances on our show section

  3. Overall I thought it was pretty good. I didn't like how dark the picture was, and it was hard to capture the band and the claw together. I think maybe I'm a little judgmental of this one moreso than the other DVDs because I saw a show this time around and I knew what to expect.
  4. DISCLAIMER, THIS IS MY OPINION NOT FACT. I am one of the believers in this dvd and show but really not as strong a DVD as I thought it would be! I was defending this for a while but really BONO RUINS IT. He has his moments to shine though. I was watching this in amazing HD quality on some amazing speakers and TV. Everything was perfect but Bono's "scratchy" voice left all the casual fans annoyed / bored / confused. NLOTH, In a Little While, and One in particular. I myself love most of it (8/10) but most this is not really for casual fans.

The setlist is flawed, it starts off intense with Boots, Magnificent and a decent Mysterious but Beautiful Day for some reason was not that great (even with the snippets).

Where is the audience at during Still Haven't Found? They could totally have boosted them to make them sound amazing even if they where not! Missed opportunity. Stuck In a Moment was alright but too soon for a slow song I think. Beautiful Day / Still Haven't / Incomplete Stand By Me / and Stuck do not get the crowd going on a DVD. Of course at the show it would a lot better but I'm just going by the Blu Ray.

NLOTH, I LOVED IT. No one else did Bono's voice did not impress like I thought it would. The song is amazing but this live version is decent, ruined a little by Bono's failure of REWIND and the OH OH OH's. Loved the way it was filmed though.

Elevation was actually great! What the hell! In a Little While was awkward with Bono sounding too loud on it and not singing it correctly. Although I like how the astronaut commander is on it, segues well into Unknown Caller WHICH WAS EPIC. Casual fans approved of the Oh Oh Oh's on that.

UNTIL THE END OF THE WORLD. WOW. THAT WAS PRETTY FUCKING EPIC. Bono acting like the character in the song and going crazy was great! Loved the outtro and THE AERIAL SHOTS. Those just made this Blu Ray worth it. same with the awful version of TUF (although I love how it starts off but falls apart towards the end) and the above average version of COBL. City dominated with the filming Vertigo was Vertigo, causing lots of Vertigo. Everyone loved that version AERIAL SHOTS *DROOL*

Crazy Tonight was alright, sound was off and the cilmax didn't climax LIKE IT SHOULD HAVE Can't place it. Not a lot of audience noise? Artificial Horizon's had a better sound mix than this version.

SBS, MLK and Walk On were very awkward with the political tie in, this goes back to my belief that it is too soon after Vertigo and Crazy. You are partying and having a good time and then you end up getting told about Aung Sang Suu Kyi? I don't think you even need the masks to get the message acrosss. Bono can just say like, "We dedicate this to Aung Sang tonight. Back during the All That You Can't Leave Behind sessions we wrote this beautiful song for her, tonight we play it for her and for you" stuff like that. MLK was alright but no speech should be said before it as it should naturally go from SBS into MLK into Walk On without any real lecturing.

The problem with all the political-ness is that you are attacked with 2 different issues this time around. The Burma crisis and the Africa AIDS drugs from Desmond. I say don't remove it but tone down The masks because it was awkward as hell. And even more annoying is the weak version of One. :/ Left more to be desired but AMAZING GRACE INTO STREETS MADE UP FOR IT! Great moment. Filmed correctly thank god

ULTRVIOLET D: What can I say about this! HOLY CRAP BATMAN! Finally on a DVD, I'll take this weak version because its still light years about anything you hear on the radio or how other artists are performing their forgotten album tracks. LOVED IT. LOVED THE JACKET. LOVED THE SCRATCHY VOICE (you can still sense the passion in Bono's voice even though he couldn't go any further vocally; the effort was there I believe)

With or Without You was decent, watching Bono swing around was more interesting than how he sang it. I still think WOWY is just there for the transitional effect and because the audience loves it. But I also kind of think that Bono's singing it like this on purpose, hes going for that final 'intimacy' factor. Its not as awful as I've noticed on bootlegs for other shows.

Moment of Surrender. LOVED THE RAP AT THE END. Bono barely had any voice for the verses but its still a great verson I think. The ending is awkward how it just endds... and the 'DON'T LEAVE ME ALONE IN THIS SONG DON'T LEAVE ME NOW. and then the show ends? What? I thought you said, don't leave us now? Ahaha love that still

Overall I think it gets an 8/10 for performance. (Live for Youtube and really late in the tour). Bonos voice gets a 7/10 The picture quality gets a 9/10. It does look pretty grainy at times, too many different quality cameras used. But I think I'll be watching this for a long time (for better and for worse) STILL WATCHABLE GUYS SOO CALM DOWN!

  7. It didn't let me post one long post?

  8. Really? Weird. We don't have charachter limits I think (or it's much higher than your 3 posts together)...
  9. nice review. Keep them coming folks. I'm still waiting for the blu ray
  10. I got it Genaro. You wrote

That little smiley made the rest of the post fail and not be posted. Never use codes or expressions beggining with " < " because the system recognizes them as HTML codes and shuts off the message (since we only support UBB codes)
  11. Ahhh. Ok, got it next time I won't make that mistake
  12. Just watched the extras, bit dissapointed but thats irrelevant. Having watched the squaring the cicle doc, did anybody see the setlist during the barcelona rehearsals(apologies if this has been discussed before)looks like they were going to open with 'sunday bloody sunday', 'Breathe' was going to open the encore, an acoustic 'walk on' and drowning man of course. Im sure it was just a preliminary setlist but what an interesting show it would have made
