1. Why this discussion.
U2 is still the best live act in the world today.(for almost 3 decades)
    Best band is subjective.

  2. Other than U2 it has to be The Killers
  3. it would be coldplay if we r going on radio/ video play i rekon,
muse if we r going on growth as a band, and U2 for live performances.
I want 1 of U2s next 2 albums to be filled with radio friendly Vertigos or Beautifuls Days , just to remind everyone that they r still the best band in the world and i want to hear them all over the radio and see em on every music channel, the other album can be as experimental as they want
  4. Just a quick question:

Are the individuals who have chosen Muse as band of the decade from the east side of the Atlantic? I very well may be showing my age but I don't hear a lot of Muse on the radio over here in Canada. I'm aware that they opened for U2 during the latter half of the NA tour (I saw Snow Patrol open in Toronto) but I really don't know their music very well. Any particular songs I should (legally) download? I think a full album right away might be too much at once for me. Less is more.

Muse aren't that big in North America, which is why Coldplay beat them in terms of 'bigness'.
Try listening to Starlight, Plug in Baby, Supermassive Black Hole, Knights of Cydonia, Hysteria and their new song Uprising. I don't like them much, they songs don't carry strong melodies or write good choruses. Very much a futuristic prog rock band.

Get the HAARP DVD live from Wembley. The beginning will completely blow you away with Knights of Cydonia and you'll have chills until the end of the last song. Simply the best concert DVD ever.
  8. There is no "band of the decade". Trying to find a "band of the decade" means finding a band that was "the best" of a respective decade. The flaw with this is, how do you interpret "the best"? Music is based upon opinion, meaning it's open to a spectrum of criticisms. For instance, I could say Buckcherry could be the band of the decade. WIll people agree with me? If they want to, that's up to them. Hell I could call this "Artist of the Decade" and nominate Britney Spears just because I like her music, as do many people. Fanbase doesn't work either because this gives a huge unfair advantage to older bands/artists. You can't really define this topic, therefore it's open to practically all musicians.

  9. Well someone needs to take it back from him before he does something unspeakable to it.
