Now this would be more worse for U2 fans than other shows, since you don't get a refund when U2 won't play. You'll just end up getting there anyway, but you see other bands. I hope U2 can make it, but I'm seriously doubting that.

It's almost like the actual bands are besides the point at a good festival. The general atmosphere, the vibe in the air, and then you realise that, say, Doves are playing at the bottom of the hill you're sat on. Be amazing if U2 CAN make it, but I'm with you on the unlikelihood of this. They'll be back.

Well its just speculation now. Rumours are that the show at the 27th will continue, so why not the 25th?

On the other hand... Glastonbury needs to know soon, plus they cant afford to keep big acts like Coldplay as backup. If they ask those bands they will probably replace U2 even if Bono is fit at the time. But maybe they know more than we do. Quite possible that U2 confirmed that think they will play Glastonbury. Maybe with a less mobile Bono behind the mic.

most likely that a band already on the bill will be bumped up to headliner if U2 can't make it. Ala Snow Patrol at last years V festival
