1. I bought Funeral first, then got Neon Bible, and it had to grow on me before I could really love it. Funeral is an easier album to get into, I think. Neon Bible is dark, but truly beautiful and melodic.
Plus, Antichrist Television Blues is one of my favorite songs in the world

Well the critics did agree, Neon Bible didn't appear on any top 10 albums of the decade lists, Funeral did. And isn't Funeral also dark? And beautiful and melodic (indeed more melodic than Neon Bible, which is more gritty).

I shall listen to both again though and see.

I don't really care if Neon Bible appears on any best of lists. Pop never makes any of best of lists either Yes Funeral was dark, but I always got this feeling of hope in it, but in Neon Bible it felt much more grim.
BTW I don't want it to sound like I hate Funeral, because Funeral is another one of my favorite albums, I just prefer Neon Bible. You could tell the band was growing with that album.
