Nevertheless, the transitions will never be seamless or not-noticeable, since virtually every bootleg has a different sounding audience, etc. You can only try to fade one song into the next one and pray that it doesn't sound like crap. But I've done it a thousand times and, although it sounds pretty good, you always notice they're different songs from different bootlegs. But yeah, volume adjustes and fading/mashing the songs is recommended and may give more than decent results

Sorry for asking questions that make me seem like I'm an amateur (or verifying that I actually am an amateur) but how do you fade tracks in and out when creating a CD? I know how to choose this setting on itunes when playing tracks on my computer but as far as I can tell, this doesn't translate when burning a disk. Do you use a different program like Virtual DJ?

    Thanks.
  2. This setlist looks really cool. You could also do a chronological setlist starting with 11 O'clock Tick Tock then I will follow and so on.....

But if you didn't want to do that, I agree its definatly best to start with streets from Rattle and Hum and probably end with 40 or MoS.

You could group Discotheque, Crazy Remix and Mofo together because I reckon they would sound good togther, maybe with mysterious ways.

The Rattle and Hum version of SBS and probably Exit would be class. Slane's All I want is you is wonderful. A sort of homecoming from the Wide awake EP is great.

One from sydney 1993, or chicago 2005 dvd, i think the best version of Beautiful day is the slane DVD, although the sheffield one is class. The sheffield 09 or chicago 05 Vertigo song is also world class, just love the stories for boys snippet. You have to put electric co. in there and the from, and last night on earth and ebttrt and cobl, hope this is helping...?

if you dont like any of that fair doos, its up to you really though

The only issue with using the All I Want Is You from Slane is that it segues so nicely into Streets which has already been used. The Milan '05 version is also pretty good and makes a nice triplet between ISHFWILF and COBL.

No problem with asking, it's the tru only way to knowledge

Well, I've always used Nero Soundtrack. It's an application inside Nero (Google it, easy to find) which has all the basics you need for editing and burning. You can very easily fade tracks into each other, and once you really learn to use it, it can be a very powerful tool. It's pretty easy to install and use so you shouldn't find any problem. Just load the two tracks you wanna fade and... fade them xD... Easy as hell. It has a CD-burning app. integrated too, no need to export in rare formats, no worries. Just fade, edit and burn

Mofo is a must for a live compilation. Sarajevo and the MTV Europe Music Awards show both have great versions.
  7. I feel like, when doing these live compilations, each disc should be another set of the 'show'. For example, maybe 3 separate main sets, and then a whole set of encores. Something like...

    1. Where the Streets Have No Name
    2. Magnificent
    3. Out of Control
    4. Elevation
    5. I Will Follow
    6. I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For
    7. Stay (Faraway, So Close!)
    8. The Unforgettable Fire
    9. City of Blinding Lights
    10. Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses
    11. If God Will Send His Angels
    12. Staring at the Sun
    13. Desire
    14. Stuck in a Moment You Can't Get Out Of
    15. Kite

    SET 2

    1. Hawkmoon 269
    2. Even Better Than the Real Thing
    3. I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight (Studio)
    4. Sunday Bloody Sunday
    5. Your Blue Room
    6. Unknown Caller
    7. Until the End of the World
    8. New Years Day
    9. Tryin' to Throw Your Arms Around the World
    10. Running to Stand Still
    11. Love and Peace or Else
    12. Bullet the Blue Sky
    13. MLK
