1. This just happened to be the last question in that 10 minute survey going around and I thought it was a fairly valid one.

    On a scale of one to ten how satisfied are with whatever the band is doing currently - one being on the verge of never listening to them again and 10 being you've never been so happy with the band and have no (major) complaints?

    Also for whatever your number is, is it a recent thing or have you felt this way for a while?
  2. To kick us off I would have to say a 4.5 at the moment.

    I loved the tour, thought it was a beautifully balanced set list that left everyone feeling pretty happy. But I'm pretty distraught at various things since the last leg finished:

    - No YBR in Europe which was minor
    - No gigs in Ireland (I would have taken the UK and don't mention that festival). My so called pre-sale ticket code is now sitting there gathering dust.
    - Glastonbury - I really think this is a mistake (minor mishap though)
    - No SoA when we were told it would almost definitely be coming out.
    - No 'Breathe' on the DVD
  3. 4.

    My 8 year non-stop U2 bubble just popped. Gonna take some work from the boys to get up to 10.
  4. I think I put 8. Yeah there are some things I feel would/could be better, but I'm generally fairly upbeat about all things Ooh Zwei.

  5. What's got you ticked off the most? My money's on the next legs of the so-called "tour"

    Me too.
  7. 8.5

    * more variable setlist
    * cat 1 for seated tickets is too high
    * no sight of SOA
    * no real B-sides on the singles

    I absolutely love that they went for a "the bigger the better"-attitude again with this stage. I also love that they offered such an interesting album which really takes time to get into.
  8. *sorry for the double post*
  9. Probably a 7.

    Even though currently in THEIR careers, there have been things to irk me, all of the time in my life, I'm rediscovering the past, dusting off albums and songs and hearing new things, and nothing can stop me from that no matter where they're at in their career. So currently, I'm about 7/10 satisfied because even though there are a few, very, very MINOR things that are irritating me about them, I'm still very caught up in the new leg starting, the DVD being released (Breathe or not), and the fact that they've given me 30+ years of amazing music that I'll never be separated from.

    Like what you've said.

    Some people think U2 milking their fans with the continuous releases of concert dvd's, remixes, and repackaged material. However, free will gives us the option to buy or to not buy. This stuff (new or old) maintains my interest in the band. Keep it up, U2!

    Oh. I replied 8 out of 10. Very happy with them, but will never again reach the 10/10 score I would have given them in 1992....and I don't need/expect them to do so. They've had a truly amazing career. Their longevity, in my mind, has been (and never will be) surpassed by none. Just think, at this point in their career, The Rolling Stones (and God love them for what they created in the '60s/early 70's) were recording Voodoo Lounge! Ugh.

  11. I'm tempted to say I'd bump it up to a 9 or 10 right now lol, I've rediscovered Streets. Jesus. That's what music is about. In fact, I think it's more than music. I was playing it on my guitar earlier, and now I'm just getting more and more 'wow-ed' up by thinking about the shows I went to last year, and, just, bloody hell.

    Quite frankly, they can do whatever they want. They wrote that song, amongst other things. What more does a man need?
  12. I SHOULD put around a 5, but honestly, the day I did that survey, my alarm clock woke me up, and I have it set to play the "classic rock" station for the alarm, and the song that woke me was Pride, and when the alarm came on, the song had just started, and nothing could have been a better start to a day. So currently, because I still listen to their old stuff and it still satisfies me more than ever, I think I put an 8.
