  2. She's called Sara Carbonero, she's a very well known (and really beautiful) sports reporter since a couple of years. He started to flirt with Iker Casillas some months ago (maybe over a year, I don't know) and they become a famous couple. Sara was sent to South Africa to cover the World Cup, and they haven't been able to meet since the start of the tournment, aside from some other interviews after some matches.
    The other day's kiss was special because a lot of people (specially the gutter press and the gossip columns) was ranting about them, criticising, etc etc... Then Iker, during the interview, thanked his parents, his friends, his brother and everyone who had helped and supported him throughout the years and... then almost cried... and kissed her, when "only" 15 millions (15.000.000!!!!) of spanish people was watching that, live. It was moving

    Spain is now awakening of the dream..... After SOOO many years of losing, deception, more losing, more deception, anger, disappointments, etc etc... winning the Europe Cup and the World Cup in a row makes us feel a little stoned, a little crazy. We've grown listening "Spain never wins nothing" every day, and now, in the last 6-8 years, Spain wins everything. Tennis, ciclying, basket, motorbikes, F1, and now the biggest one, soccer/football....... It's hard to believe.

    The worst part of it is that now, Spain can only go downhill


    It must be great to live in such times. What do you think is the reason behind all these sportive highlights, Sergio?


  5. I really don't know. Maybe the transition between the Franco dictator age to the democracy (which occured between 1975 and 1980) has something to do with it. Most of the successful players of today were born after the transition, and in middle-class families that had gone through difficult times in the dictator years. That families must have imprinted a special overcoming spirit in his sons and daughters, who have been born and raised without the "Spain is crap and isolated from the world - we don't like the wolrd - we don't need the world - etc" feeling, but with the "We can be big worldwide, we must do our best, let the world admire us" one.

    Could be. Nowadays it's possible to put six Catalunians in your squad, if i'm correct. That tells something as well I think.
  8. Even though we didnt win the finale, we gave the team a warm welcome in Amsterdam. Canal parade was amazing as well as the Museumplein afterwards....loosing did hurt but the whole city turning Oranje had a sort of healing power for me, glad I've been there!

  10. Just came back from Lanzorote and was their during the Spanish celebrations, they were manic. People running up and down the street with Spanish falgs, tonnes of people in cars beeping their horns constantly, no stop shouting and celebrating, it was a great atmosphere.

    I was soooo envious and really wished it was England but happy to see some people enjoying themselves... , well done to Holland too, I really like Holland
